Hello. I just made my NON O Visa based on marriage with a Thai at Royal Thai Consulate in Savannaketh.

Everything went fine and I got a single entry visa for 3 months. Now me and my spouse want to apply for one year extensions and I have some questions from people who already applied.

1. Is there any 1 year extension for NON O without extending as a marital visa or marital visa IS the only step to get 1 year extension? What would be the best option since we want to live in Thailand as much as possible?

2. What are the taxes and requirments that I need to prepare for this extension?

3. How many times can I extend this 3 month single entry visa that I own now?

4. How can I apply for a certificate of residence and how do I know if I m eligible for this kind of document?

Thank you! Best Regards!

1. You would apply for a one year extension of stay based upon marriage at your local immigration office during the last 30 days of the 90 day entry from the non-o visa you have.

The one year extension would allow you to stay in the country until expires and then you could apply for another one year extension near the end of it.

2. No tax proof is needed. You will need 400k baht in a Thai bank in your name only for  2 months on the date you apply for the extension or proof of 40k baht income.

My general list of requirements for the extension is here. Marriage Extension Requirements 2.pdf

3. You can apply for as many one year extension as you want to.

4. You should not have a problem getting a certificate of residency needed to get a driver license or to register a vehicle in your name.

Thank you Joe. I might need to get another NON O for 3 months since I make my THAI bank account this week and I am not going to have the 2 months ready by the the time I apply.

Can I get an extension for the 3 months NON O visa I own now? Do I need to go Savannakhet again? Is it better to apply there for the marital as well? Thank you. Laws here are a bit confusing ????

You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife to get more time to have the 400k baht in the bank.

You wilfe you will need to be with you when you apply. Marriage certificate plus a copy, copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card.
