Move it somewhere near Bognor Regis and take Nana Plaza and Thermaes with it. Would save a lot of people an airfare

Finally a post that makes sense.

And with Viagra now available at Boots, day trips could be organised for the folks in Worthing.

  • Move that capital to Walking Street, Pataya

  • Move it at least 100km north by northeast.

I'm not sure moving a completely dysfunctional group of corrupt civil "servants" matters at all.

They are moving Jakarta. Some authorities are waking up to climate change. Good decision.

So typical selfish of the PM, Move the government outside!  and what leave everyone else to suffer or died?  Just the government!

Let me suggest this built whatever needs to be built move the people first last one to leave is the PM and the government.  Sinking ship Captain takes care of the passenger and the crew goes last!????

Move it to central Essan, that way you can bet that the mps' will be there to serve the nation and not to party in......most anyway. haahaa

Then they will have to supply housing to all the 1000's of people who work in the capital now. I can see this costing 100's of billions and the corruption will be enormous

How far were they thinking?

I was thinking about Cambodia or Laos.

Maybe not far enough.

I wake up to climate change daily.  In the morning, it's cool, but gets hotter around noon.

Global Warming.

Then at night it gets cooler again.

Since Global cooling isn't a thing, yet, I guess I'll call it climate change.

I love climate change.  It breaks up the boredom.

You did notice they dropped the "Global Warming" and went to "Climate Change" when the climate stubbornly refused to obey Gore's hockey stick? Damned inconvenient, that, should tax the climate.

I doubt they could build enough dikes to make any difference and the city wasn't built to survive as an Eastern version of Venice.

Nice one. If I understood correctly, one of the problems is many klongs have been removed because the land was redeveloped for buildings.

Correct, <deleted> up the drainage ... and transport system.

Of course, but if you question them to prove the "science," they get all frothy at the mouth and the spittle forms on the left side of their mouth.  No need for an EMT, this is normal liberal behaviour when challenged.

Might as well be Shanghai

I thought that was the reason to buy a Submarine ?

But I think that putting the Government on a Boat is a Great Idea.

They could then move up and down the river, serving all of Thailand.

Great idea. Move it up to Korat area, 150 metres above sea level. Ummm, to be open and honest about it, my wife has some land there, maybe make a killing . . .

Sent from my G8441 using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Move it to Pattani. The Muslims cannot then complain that they are being sidelined. Put the insurgents in charge of investigating government corruption - make them judge, jury and executioner, 3 jobs in one, can save money!

Move the capital and then connect the BTS and other transport to a high-speed link to the new capital.

No. Just the PM and his military cronies relocated to as far away as possible.

Let me get this straight..

Instead of doing a root cause analysis and actually trying to solve the pollution problem in the capital city, you want to change the capital to another (less polluted city)??

Thai logic at it's best.

Problem solving that actually requires critical thinking and planning = think too mutt

Diverting the problem = much easier.

Sorry but you have to think Thai Style to understand.

1-Float the Idea and see what reaction you get

2-No big stink = Green Light the plan

3-All Government Cronies find a Cheap Land location, buy it up, or take it over via "Red Tape"

4-Proclaim the approval for the move, and point to the Cheap Land location, already acquired.

5-Done deal, Pop the Cork, Party time, now pass out the watches.....

Sounds like the way Microsoft releases their software. Works, if you are Microsoft, or in this case, a government cronie.

Why not move it to Pattaya, which our days id so much more representative of Thailand.

Edited by Momofarang

why not move it just across the boarder with the Casinos,

because it's just another gambling operation,

pull the handle to play, but remember the "HOUSE" always wins.

Sure, pick Nakon Nayok or some place that floods all the time...wash the pollution away..  genius idea.

Also Australia, Khazakstan, Burma and South Africa all benefit from banishing the MP's away from the good life IMHO.

Promised but never even remotely delivered ;+)

If moving the capital meant getting a bunch of Gov people, their cars, and motorcades our of Bangkok, it can only be a good thing for everyone else.

It would have to be somewhere not far from Bangkok and the airports etc, so perhaps Prachinburi, Nakon Nayok or similar.
