Pirated software
Pirated software seems to be a bit of a thing of the past. I use a Mac, most apps are either free or worth buying for the cheap price. Also, lots of things use a subscription model thats hard to replicate with a cracked version and there’s usually a free alternative or free tier. Some paid apps are available in the torrent sites, no need to go and avoid a physical outlet. -

What Would Make You Leave Thailand, Permanently?
I think the changes are largely indirect. For instance, the tightening of bank requirements. The scrutiny of immigration at entry points and entry exit rules. At CW some good things too... 90 day online, queing system more civilized, seemingly less pickiness from IOs, pu extension wo showing photography of balance, processing is a bit more streamlined. About five years back plus lots of arbitrariness. The thing I can't get over is why they won't go to multi year extension for family extension at least. Two year for 5+ years, 3 years 10+ and five year for 15+ marriages. I think the concern is they want to check deposits... Thailand doesn't court it's expat community. It's very indifferent at best. That needs to change. The average Thai has no savings and is in debt. Each legal expat is backed by min 400k banked and probably a monthly spend of at least 25k. It all needs to move online as well. -

The Expat Paradox: An Appraisal of Westerners in Thailand
Sure, but the OP wants to diss us for wearing the wrong footwear in restaurants, when the reality is culturally you shouldn't wear any. Sounds like the OP doesn't really understand Thailand. -

The Expat Paradox: An Appraisal of Westerners in Thailand
They're pragmatic. They don't mind your stinky feet as long as you bring in money in their establishment. -

What Would Make You Leave Thailand, Permanently?
Yes, and 25 adult years in USA was more than enough, especially when one gets O&A quite often. Even them, I did miss a few things, mainly a couple famous Nat'l Parks. Most Yanks don't have the free time & finances to take advantage of all that the USA offers. Not necessarily a bad thing, as most live within a few 100 kms of a coastline, so get to experience a diverse local environment.
