Shops part of ‘Eat, Shop, Spend’ scheme will get their money, CGD promises

Baht speculation on downtrend, says central bank governor

Speculation of the baht has slowed down after the central bank imposed measures to discourage foreign investors form parking their short-term funds in Thailand, said Central Bank Governor Veerathai Santiprabhob at the Bank of Thailand’s Symposium 2019 today.

Sharp hike in subsidy to encourage consumption of B10 diesel

The Oil Fund Committee on Monday (September 30) resolved to sharply increase the subsidy for B10 diesel to Bt1.80 per litre from Bt0.95 per litre at present, the committee director, Viraphol Jirapraditkul, said.

Govt considers expanding limits on ‘Eat, Shop, Spend’ scheme

Deputy Prime Minister for economic affairs Somkid Jatusripitak said on Monday (September 30) that the government is considering expanding the 10-million participants limit in the “Eat, Shop, Spend” scheme as the campaign has earned an overwhelming response. The Finance Ministry will also look into the possibility of boosting the Bt19-billion budget.

KTB confirms “Taste, Shop, Use ” system did not fail on Sunday

BANGKOK (NNT) - Krungthai Bank (KTB) has refuted rumors that its “Chim Shop Chai (Taste, Shop, Use)” registration system failed yesterday (Sept 29), resulting in shoppers at a Tesco Lotus in Lak Si district of Bangkok abandoning their shopping carts. KTB say the error was specific to the branch, adding that one million people had registered for the program by 3a.m.

Public warned against growing cannabis without official permission

The US-China trade war leads to an increase of FDIs in Thailand

PHUKET: Phuket City Police and Phuket City Municipality have both issued warnings over dangerous use of firecrackers during the ongoing Phuket Vegetarian Festival, especially the practice of throwing firecrackers into crowds of people either taking part in the street processions or lining the roads watching the festivities.
