Sanders cancels U.S. presidential campaign events after heart scare

Bernie pulls out and endorses Elizabeth Warren.

That combined support puts her neck-and-neck with Joe Biden.

The prospect of another female candidate pulls enough female support from Biden to Warren to put her ahead.

Trump vs Warren in 2020, Trump wins a 2nd term.

The economy will get another boost once that realization kicks in next week, dollar is likely to rise slightly against the baht.

Please note, this is my prediction of what it about to happen, not an endorsement of any particular outcome.

Not according to any current polling, and the margins are not small. One of Trump's weaknesses is that he is not liked by soccer moms, but they still poll strongly for him if the alternative is distinctly leftist rather than centrist.

The coasts are currently excited about redistribution and, because most media is focused on coastal opinions, that does create the impression that this reflects changing sentiment throughout the nation, but most Americans remain less enthusiastic about tax. Very hard to get past that. I would definitely take the other side of your steak bet.

Biden would beat Trump, partly thanks to his association with Obama, partly because he would represent a welcome return to "unexciting", predictable politics, and partly because he will get enthusiastic, uncritical backing from the media once nominated.

That would be enough to sway swing voters back to voting Democrat but, as I said, he will not get the nomination if the newly resurgent left in the Democratic party coalesces around just one candidate. Then you're looking at a completely different ball game.

The biggest question now is does Trump even make it as the republican candidate.

Well, can you give any example where a sitting American president, presiding over a successful economy, was challenged by his own party?

Again, please note, this is my prediction of what is about to happen, not an endorsement of any particular outcome or candidate. It is surprising that I have to highlight what should be obvious, but you always get some morons here who post "confused" or "sad" emojis because they cannot process the idea that a prediction, based on stats and precedent, is not a partisan opinion.

I like Bernie. I don't want him as president. He obviously has good health care coverage that he can afford. Too bad that isn't true at all for most Americans.

His healthcare, as well as all other Members of Congress is provided by the government program. Additionally, all of us over 65 are covered by another government system - Medicare.

Old man, lying on your bed and waiting for death, the money you can make during the elections you don't need anymore.

Ha! I've had 5 by-passes in 2005, a stent placement in 2015 and certainly nowhere near waiting to die. Just maybe, he is in the campaign for reasons other than money. Some of us have other motivations other than money in our lives.

Ha! Yes, it appears, as regards the bill run up by spending far more than we are willing to tax ourselves to pay for that I too will die before the bill comes due.

Bernie had a really good shot in 2016. The dems sabotaged his bid. Hillary went on to become one of the least competent candidates in history. She made so many mistakes. You eliminate any one of her dozen major blunders and she would have been elected. Unlike what Trump likes to profess, it was a very close election. He did not win the popular vote, and if Clinton had gotten as little as a few hundred thousand more votes in the swing states, she would have gotten the electoral college. Trump barely squeaked by, and it was due to Hillary's horrendous performance. Many who voted for Trump had no idea who he was, nor how terrible a president he would become, nor how utterly horrendous and dishonest a human being he truly is. It is not his supporters who are deplorable. They are mostly good people, who just did not see an alternative in Hillary. It is the man himself who is the deplorable.

Not planning to vote because as US in a hole for 22 trillions nobody talk about it.

This is probably true. Doesn't matter if it's Sanders, Trump, Warren, or Biden. All that debt is going to sink the ship and make whomever is captain at the time into the most hated man or woman on Earth. Personally, I don't care. Whichever one would promise me a 50 percent increase in SS to offset the strength of the Thai baht would get my vote. Might as well get my share of the loot from spending, too, before the dollar craters. I think this means I vote for Warren.

He actually lost fair and square. He would have even lost if they hadn't had super delegates. Just look at the primary votes. It was part of the Putin "trump" propaganda play to promote a false narrative that the nomination was stolen from him to persuade Bernie supporters to either vote for 45 or stay home. It worked.

If Bernie pulled out now, which he absolutely will not, at least half of his supporters would go to Yang.

Bernie was clearly not on a path to be nominated this time either. Health problems or not. It's seems possible that this health problem will foreshadow an exit from the campaign and an endorsement of Warren. It would be a clean and dignified way for him to finish his presidential ambitions.

Someone found my assertion "funny" that Bernie would have lost anyway in the primary against Clinton. But sorry, "funny" or not, it's true.

No, Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders wouldn't have won even if super delegates were nixed

I'm sorry, I understand your passion, but he's done. His ability to govern was already a question: he would be 79 at the start of his presidency, which is actually older than any president has been at the end of their presidency.

79 is also, coincidentally, Beto O'Rourke's IQ, and the number of bosses that Kamala Harris has slept with on her way to the top - she is the only person who has ever sexually harassed Joe Biden.

The oldest living president, Jimmy Carter, last month said that he could not have done the job at Bernie's age. A major cardiac episode blows apart any claim he could have made of somehow being physically up to the job.

Quite apart from the political realities, do you seriously think his wife is going to let him kill himself? It's over. His job now is to gracefully hand the nomination to Warren and, if she gets elected, see out his days in luxury as the ambassador to France or some other plum position.

I like Yang, some interesting ideas, but he represents a completely different wing of the party, and is only polling at around 1%. People simply don't break towards a candidate who has failed to gain any momentum at all.

People are with Bernie because of his politics, not because of color, gender, charming personality, sense of humor etc. They only have one place to go when Bernie officially pulls out next week, only Warren occupies the same territory, and he is on friendly terms with her.

I am not a Bernie supporter, though I was. I remain an admirer of his though. He absolutely has made the Democrat party better, but there's still a ways to go.

Well I don't think his appeal is only his politics. I think his cranky truth telling feisty grandpa persona makes him personally lovable to many, including me.

But it's clear Warren was starting to own his lane already. So if that continues and Bernie truly fades, then realistically we're down to an emerging three lanes.

Warren, more progressive lane (without Bernie threat, truly formidable)

Biden, more back to normality, center left lane, another "it's his turn" candidate that usually means a LOSS for the democrats

The fight over a similar lane as Biden:

Buttigeig

Booker

Klobuchar

Harris

Assuming that third not-Biden lane thins to only one, well then what?

Biden and the not Biden center left person VS. Warren.

I can see why Warren might be picking out the oval office drapes already.

That's not generally true and is just a cheap short at people that you disagree with. However, I must admit as a meat eater (news flash -- most democrats eat meat too) when someone mentioned to me that Corey Booker is vegan I felt that's kind of flaky and I definitely relate to him less because of it.

It's refreshing to hear someone coming at this logically. You're right warren will probably be a better choice financially speaking.

Agreed. The voters opted for the least bad candidate, as I've said since the election.

Had Bernie been the candidate he'd have won the college and the popular vote.

I see Bernie had a heart attack, so that's him definitely out of the running.
