White House Shifted Authority Over Ukraine Aid Amid Legal Concerns

The White House gave a politically appointed official the authority to keep aid to Ukraine on hold after career budget staff members questioned the legality of delaying the funds, according to people familiar with the matter, a shift that House Democrats are probing in their impeachment inquiry.

President Trump’s order to freeze nearly $400 million in aid to Ukraine in mid-July is at the center of House Democratic efforts to investigate allegations that Mr. Trump used U.S. foreign policy powers to benefit himself politically. The hold came days before Mr. Trump’s request, on a July 25 call, that the Ukrainian president work with Rudy Giuliani and Attorney General William Barr to conduct investigations into former Vice President Joe Biden, a Democratic presidential hopeful.

Multiple national security specialists are coming out to share the crimes Trump has done:

The Feds just arrested two of Giulani's cohorts at DC airport with one way tickets out of the US.  They are the two that congress wanted to testify.  They had just had lunch with the Mayor.  Giuliani might want to run and hide .  Trump put new tires on the "bus" and is probably warming up the engine as I type!  Although, the arrest might put a damper on any congressional appearance by the two, they are now indicted for campaign finance violations and other charges and probably would just take the 5th.

They will face 2 charges which could possibly add up to 35 years in jail. They are Ukrainian with US citizens. Hope they squeal and more damage to Trump and Giuliani. They donated huge amount to Trump campaign. Got to keep them securely locked; many would like to get their hands on them. Problems for the orange man piling up.

I notice the fizz has totally gone out of this "investigation", now that the democrat key players are in deeper hot water than their target. Releasing the phone call transcripts (that proved the quid pro quo lie was just that) was a master-stroke. It's dropped from headline news to a short footnote. The whole thing much reminds me of the cartoon with a dumb but determined coyote chasing a fast and cunning bird. Every evil scheme the coyote drums up backfires horribly. Incredible parallels!

Wow - those are some impressive blinders you are wearing.

Four national security specialists are coming forward to testify further about Trump's Ukraine phone call crimes:

Two of Guiliani's cohorts in crime just arrested as they tried to fell the country and an arresting official publicly describing their direct roles in Trump's campaign finance wrongdoing.

Deflect, ignore, lie, deny, obfuscate.

Yes, I sure hope they turn on Trump to get lighter sentences. Not only did Trump receive the money but Republican Senators as well (that we know of at this time, most likely other politicians, too). Let's see if they get "Epsteined."

Professional as in governmental. As in the course of carrying out his or her governmental duties.

Gosh I wonder those duties included travelling to Ukraine on AF2 ????

Im sure we'll learn more as this farce unravels.

Yes, reported and corrected to already quite some time ago. Please do keep up.

Just a question: How do you know and know it's true if you don't know who the whistle-blower is? ..if it is not known who he is?

Well, why your selectivity in questioning? How do we know for sure anything about this latest report is true? You just want to hold on to the parts that would be discreditable to the whistleblower?

2 Giuliani Associates Tied to Ukraine Scandal Arrested on Campaign Finance Charges

Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, associates of President Trump’s personal lawyer, were also part of the pressure campaign on Ukraine to investigate Democrats.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/10/us/politics/lev-parnas-igor-fruman-arrested-giuliani.html

These two guys apparently have Ukrainian passports, but the news coverage I've read on their arrests describes them, not surprisingly, as Russian emigres.

And, guess who's representing them:

Quote

Mr. Fruman and Mr. Parnas were represented by two lawyers who defended Paul Manafort, the president’s former campaign chairman who was convicted last year in the same courthouse of financial crimes associated with his own work in Ukraine.

And of course, Trump doesn't know them, at least as of today...

Quote

Mr. Trump invited Mr. Fruman to a fund-raiser last year at the president’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, he said in an interview with Forum Daily, a publication that bills itself as the “voice of Russian-speaking America.” The article featured a photograph of the two men, with the president giving a thumbs-up sign.

You mean these two guys sitting with Don, Jr. (most assuredly discussing adopting Russian babies)?

From today's epsiode of CHopper Talk....

Reporter: Are you concerned that Rudy Giuliani could be indicted in all of this?

president: I hope not.

It's very sad that you pin your hopes on exchanges like this. LOL

I have no iron in the fire and do not support politicians, don't like them. Big fan of truth though.

There's lots of information floating around intelligence communities and among investigative lawyers about the WB. Some think they might know who he is. It's curious that info is coming out and yet media suggests WB's identity remains  secret. Thus my question. For future reference I will provide initials, NP. We shall see.

At this rally, Trump claimed they sold 72,000 tickets for the rally in a place that only holds 20,000.

The whole upper tier is pretty much empty, like the president's head.

He looked quite crazy during this rally. It was epic. Some of his language was unusually salty.

And some of his tweets during the day smacked of a 13 year old sent to his room.

My fav o the day... "they suck". Ever the classy president.

I follow primary sources

Example(s)?

Again, the Whistleblower and his/her report is so yesterday. It's not important anymore. But if you feel the need to attack it, go for it. Just makes you look silly though.

This train-wreck is going at warp-speed. It is hard to keep up.

There will be dozens of insiders - already four new folks indentified (WH/NSC) today - coming forward. Good luck trying to impugn all of them.

You're easy to offend, I fear for your nerves if he had said:

"He was only a good Vice President because he knew how to kiss....

Barack Obama's ass"

Which he did....LOL
