Police make huge drug haul at Nakhon Ratchasima checkpoint

One person was arrested as more than seven million amphetamine pills, 105 kilogrammes of heroin and 300kg of ketamine were seized by police at a checkpoint in Nakhon Ratchasima.

 

Police inspector-general Pol General Suchart Theerasawat and Narcotics Suppression Bureau chief Pol Lt-General Chinnapat Sarasin held a press conference on Tuesday to announce the arrest of the suspect and the drug seizure, and displayed "the evidence".

During the press conference, police also announced the seizure of drugs in seven other narcotics cases. The drugs included methamphetamine, cocaine and ecstasy in smaller amounts.

According to Mrs Djayz, "yaba" is a big problem with the younger lads in our one street, no 7/11 village. Kind of understandable considering they do nothing all day long, have no hobbies/interests that stimulate them physically or mentally are are allowed to ride around on motorbikes from dawn to dusk.

This bust was probably just the tip of the iceberg.

I'm surprised it is shipped around in such huge amounts, if this is just one of many, Thailands drug problem is significant to say the least.

The profit margins on meth, yaba, ketamine etc etc are so high that even if nine in ten shipments are intercepted, the suppliers are still making a vast fortune on the single batch that makes it through.

Once again they got the driver..... so what about the money men behind it?

Try doing some real police work to stop the drugs!

Ohhh another thing, how about publicly showing the destruction of the drug haul?

As one other contributer said on this forum  the staggering numbers of drugs beggars belief, and also questions how can  the pushers make so much money. Economic reports indicate high levels of debt amongst the Thai population would appear to contradict that money is readily available to spend on drugs

No money, no problem.

Go steal, rob, pickpocket, bag snatch etc.

Addiction is a main driver for such crime.

No different from other countries.
