Pence would never carry the ticket on his own. He has all the charisma of a rural high school principle whose only agenda is bringing back paddling.

I'd vote for any politician who wants to bring back corporal punishment to schools, under strict controls. Not like the open season teachers and prefects had when I was at school. That was institutional bullying.

The comment was more about his personality than paddling. He is the guy in the movie footloose that keeps dancing illegal.

Perhaps the voters have had enough of personalities, and would like a bland, steady as she goes sort instead. Time for a cuppa and a rest.

This may be a dumb question but if Pence is president does he pick the VP? If so Ivanka could become VP or Eric and Pence could resign. From the little googling I did it seems indeed Pence picks.

Ivanka and Eric are articulate and would be formidable candidates for the GOP. They would claim center stage immediately. They would automatically get any Trump vote from the base and people who feel the dems attempted to steal the office.

Bring it on either way.

One can only hope both Ivanka and Eric are destined for federal prison. The US has already had enough of that noxious family.

Even if they detest Trump they know removal would lead to all out socialism. This election is more about ideology then actual candidates now.

There are many people that do vote based on that or personality.

Wait, it is not about the candidates but about personality?

They could be roomies with the Clintons.

Republicans have tried time and time again.

Holy cow you people argue over nothing. TV presentability and personality are important. Nixon against Kennedy it played a big part. John Kerry, Al Gore if they had anything going or some charisma would have most likely won. Obama sold a turd but people liked him. Yes personality is a big factor. Trump if he was less caustic would win a landslide

The dems are doing the same. I was simply mentioning another noxious family we don't need.

Who are 'you people'?

But if you contradict yourself yes, I will point that out.

So you think how people look on tv and their general level of charisma don't play a role in who wins an election?

I personally would note vote for someone based on looks.

Most voters vote for the one that promises the most goodies for free. I know they are lying, and given none of us know anything about them in reality, I'll go for the one I like to look at on tv.

Lies or looks- up to you. At least looks stay looks unlike broken promises.

Nixon won the debate on radio, but people that watched tv voted for Kennedy because he was pretty and Nixon sweated too much. Go figure.

Which is again not what I said. You said 'it is not about the people this time' and 'it is about their personality'. I pointed out you're contradicting yourself, and now you try to claim I said it is not about personality. Sorry mate, you're the one who said that, same as you said it is not about the people.

How can you say nonsense?donald trump has earned every ounce of vitriol with interest he has been trolling us for years and years I’ve been aware of this man since the 70s he had a bad reputation even then no sir he earned it with interest. The speaker will with great care set the framework for getting rid of thes abomination of a president

Bush the younger was a far, far worse president IMO, but I don't remember anything like the vitriol that is given to Trump.

Trump hasn't started pointless wars based on lies that killed and maimed thousands of Americans or caused economic chaos like the 2007 catastrophe.

Reagan had the Nicaragua illegal war on his watch, and wasted billions on the moronic star wars project, but he was revered.

So what, apart from Trump liking women that he isn't married to, and being a tv reality show host, is it that people hate so much about Trump?

What could be worse than Bush's evil war that he started, apparently because he didn't like Saddam?

I doubt we will see four full years of Trump. Period. Gone baby gone. You dug your own grave. You made your own bed. Now, lie in it Don Donald.

Welcome president Pence.

Be careful what you wish for.
