October 30, 20196 yr Digital path the only way forward: PM By THE NATION PM General Prayut Chan-o cha The government will focus more on harnessing Big Data to draw up budget plans in order to effectively solve the country’s problems and respond to what Thais really want, Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o cha said today (October 30). During his speech at an event looking at the readiness of state agencies to promote the digital government, the premier said that as the next step, state agencies would have to use their massive digital data to analyse what people want and identify their urgent needs. The information would allow for the drawing up of coherent spending plans. He has also informed the Office of the Civil Service Commission that any future recruitment of new state officials in the future would have to be in line with the government’s plan to embrace the digital age. New officials must therefore have skills in digital technology . Civil servants should be prepared to deal with the flow of information that would come via the upcoming 5G networks. Noting that the government has continued to promote the adoption of digital technology by state agencies over the past five years, Prayut said that the efforts had paid off as Thailand’s ranking in the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business 2020 list has edged up from 27th to 21st this year, out of 190 countries surveyed. Funny how it is that in Thai government departments software bugs are impossible to detect by anybody other than the end user.

October 30, 20196 yr Popular Post I really like when people who have absolutely no clue what they are talking about, talk about it. Just don't forget to inject "National Security" in there somewhere, and everything will be alright.

October 30, 20196 yr Popular Post Nice Talk, but is there any real substance behind it. Having worked in Asia; and home based in Thailand for 18 years in the Big Data Business; I have always been told by my Thai Friends within or linked to the Ministry of Science and Technology that Thailand will never digitize the Government because it is too easy to find and proof corruption within the Government. Thailand has two Mega Data Center: Supernap (Royally Sponsored) and NTT but you will only find the Banking Industry using them. The Government won't go near them

October 30, 20196 yr Popular Post Rather than ask, WE will determine exactly what the people want and need by using BIG data collected by the (all-watching) BIG brother.

October 31, 20196 yr Big data is so 2017. Meanwhile, China is pushing toward blockchain technology. And the US is in panic mode.

Prayuth could help by cutting military spending (including 50% of redundant generals); introducing a rich tax with the proceeds going towards schools and hospitals.

October 31, 20196 yr Look, I want to believe the PM's statements are positive for the Thai people and the economy but they really have a way of often over committing and under delivering in this country on most projects. You know what they say about Big Data .... garbage in ... garbage out, I hope that's not the case in question here. As for Thailand's international bank ratings of 27 to 21 for ease of doing business in Thailand, I almost fell off my seat laughing at this statement. From my years of global banking experience Thailand banks are one of the worst in the world for ease of doing business with, especially Bangkok Bank.
October 31, 20196 yr Does this mean the end of 5 pp photocopies when I do a 90 day report, maybe will be able to show them my digital passport on my digital phone instead?
October 31, 20196 yr Introducing such a concentration of RF-EMF technology operating at the MgHz frequencies 5g will be operating at without sufficient independent testing on its potential hazards to human health first is astoundingly myopic and foolhardy. Quite apart from the data sharing concerns. Well done Prayut, yet another own goal. Following the lead of the West and China again... it will take you into uncharted territory and most likely a public health crisis. ???? Edited October 31, 20196 yr by CanterbrigianBangkoker
