It was 1 punch. Do you honestly believe a 50 something kg guy can kill someone with 1 punch ?

was just either unlucky fall or connected in the wrong place .

Plenty of examples people being properly bashed and they ok. Sometimes it’s just <deleted> out of luck as they say , that is not to say he did not have pre conditions, having gone what he has gone through very possible to have pre conditions and that punch was the tipping point

In the video it looked more like a clubbing blow than a punch as if something weighty was in his hand. Possibly a knuckle duster. Note I did say possibly.

But it would explain the effect it had on the victim. And it would not be the first time such a weapon was used on a falang in the Land of Smiles. They used to be on sale all over the place, probably still are for all I know along with extendable batons and stun guns.

Are people not reading the linked stories ????

The guy "DIED A YEAR LATER" after the incident.

He woke up, hoped on a plane, went home, opened a cafe with his wife, died a year later from "pneumonia and brain injury".

People keep referring to video, what video? where?

I am not sure if you seen the vid but that was not a slight provocation that was full attack and he got punched on the counter attack. No over the top violence.. a response to an attack.

Defending the indefensible, what a piece of work you really are

You ought to be ashamed of yourself

Yes...which is why we hear over and over...Never hit anyone in the head...you can kill them. That is a well known fact.

And that is why in boxing they throw punches in the air ????

A boxer died last week from a punch.

Boxers wear gloves.

Boxers train with helmets.

Boxers learn how to maneuver.

Most boxers brains are mush.

I think that you will find that bouncers in all countries can behave violently , not just Thailand

There is a video on youtube from WS (unrelated to this incident) and if you watch it closely the doorman can be seen to put a knuckle duster on, launch a heavy one punch and then scamper off and slyly remove the knuckles

They don't appear to have any boundaries here. In true form in this video they only all jump in when one of the customers goes down on the floor

Anyway it's sad that this guy lost his life over what will probably be basically nothing......

This kind of stuff happens all over the world with bouncers. Sometimes they get nailed for it, sometimes not. Most are not trained in restraining someone without killing them.

It's one of the reasons I don't go to bars here anymore.

And blah blah blah yet boxing is still a popular sport,so there goes your assertion about hitting in the head. MMA fighters wear open-fingered gloves.

Fact remains, people get can hit 10000 times and do not die

where is the video, have to go fish on another site ?

throwing a punch in the air is an offence now and a reason to go kill someone

TIT

"In the air" just means it didnt connect as intended, the punch was dodged.

Looks like the victim is attacked by two people at the same time. This guy didn't throw a punch, he was trying to get away and put up his hand to defend himself. I would say this is a case of murder from the looks of that video. Lose your life for a few baht. Life is cheap in Thailand.

Yes he does throw a punch right in the beginning, video appears to be in fast forward mode, watch it a few times and you will see

I am not I actually watched the video and see the Brit attack first and go down after one punch. I dont see excessive violence. I see a street fight were both parties are guilty that ended wrongly.

And you can be unlucky and 1 hit does it. Been cases in the Netherlands about this humans are far more fragile then we would like to admit. It does take a dose of bad luck though to die from a single blow.

And people get hit once in the head and die. You must have been a great business owner in giving your bouncers instructions. Go ask a doctor.

Since you such as expert, why do not you tell me how many were hit in the head and how many died from 1 hit in the head?

Pattaya is dangerous and Thai bouncers anywhere love to hit. Probably did pad the bill as up here in CM they have these karaoke places being notorious to do just that and then the team of bouncers do just that. Ofcourse the Thai never fight fair and always are in the numbers like a pack of soi dogs which makes them all the more dangerous as loose cannons.

Fact is the guy died a year or less later. He took a blow to the lobe which is the one spot on the head that is dangerous and can be fatal. Unfortunately in this case the result ended up with him passing away after surgery couldn't correct it and the damage too much. The idiot Thai guy did not mean to kill him but fact is the guys time was up and he passed away from complications near a year later.

Good reminder to all of us guys over here to watch it just a little bit better.

Precisely my point , but does not mean every hit in the head kills

I disagree Charlie, the guy threw a punch too. We dont know what happend and 1 punch is not excessive violence by a bouncer. It just bad luck I have seen cases of it in The Netherlands too its never called murder and sometimes people get led for for it. Especially if its just one punch with aggressive behaviour of the other guy before.

How can you disagree with a legally recorded fact ?

Here's the video, <deleted> scum bullies!!

At least 3 of them with the only thought in their minds to severely injure him

From the video, I would guess that the bouncers followed him and asked him to return to the bar to settle a dispute with the cashier. Welsh guy's response was to throw a punch at them. He was a big (much bigger than the bouncers) guy who obviously knew how to throw a punch and probably because he was seriously drunk, missed. One of the bouncers returned the punch which also failed to fully connect but the bouncer bundled into the guy and they both fell over. Welsh guy's head hit the ground with a hell of a whack. Clearly the cause of his injury.

Manslaughter, GBH, ABH, self defence? In the West, I wouldn't like to say. In Thailand, accidental or self defence.

The legacy he has left his family is that he was out partying with his "crew", got drunk and sloped away alone for some hands on entertainment. Got even more drunk, queried the bill, got into a ruck with the bouncers and died. An inglorious end to a possibly glorious career.

I have had my bill padded twice in Thailand, first time in a gogo, allowed the bouncer, half my size to escort me to a nearby ATM and paid the bill. Second time, in a beer bar, I just paid up and walked, never to return.

Never argue over a bar bill, is it worth risking you life over a couple of thousand baht?

What legally recorded fact Charlie ? We got a video where a foreigner is shown to attack first and goes down after the counter from the Thai (just one blow). That is not excessive force and the Thai did not start the fight. (did not start with the first punch) How can you call that murder ?

It was self defence according to the Thai court (also a legally recorded fact). I just don't see murder here. I maybe see self defence but that depends a bit on what went before. What is see is a short not overly violent altercation with a foreigner throwing a punch first and getting one punch back that lands badly. No murder (at all)
