Hi Guys,

I hope someone can advise on the following.

For the last 11 years I renewed my annual Non Imm O retirement visa in Prachuap Khirikhan province with no issues, I was married and my residence was proven by a copy of my house book. Now divorced and house sold I have spent most of the year out of Thailand. Now back here and need to renew my visa.

Questions.

Can I renew in Pattaya or do I have to go back to Prachuap Khirikhan?

No longer having a house I have booked short term into a residential hotel, will immigration accept my booking as my proof of residence?

Has the issue of medical insurance been finalized, do I need insurance?

Any other info is very appreciated.

If you get a Non-Immigrant O visa you will not need insurance. You will have to meet the financial requirements. I’m not sure about the rest. Are you still on an existing permission to stay or did you return as a tourist or visa exempt? Your country of origin matters to with regard to meeting the financial requirements.

You need to transfer your residence to the new province before proceeding with the renewal. Are you going to find a more permanent residence before your renewal date ? I don't know if Immigration will accept a hotel as a residence, even if it is not specifically prohibited.  And, what sort of visa/extension are you on ? Is it dependent on your now former marriage ?

Financial is no problem. My present yearly visa is still valid until 19 December. My only real concern is the proof of place of residence and can I do the renewal in Pattaya

As I stated I am on a Non Imm O visa for the last eleven years, and have a Prachuap Khirikhan retirement extension until 19 December 2019. I am not on a spouse/marriage visa so that has no relevance, I have already extended once since the divorce. I doubt I will find a permanent place before I need to renew.

They should accept that as proof of residence since you will of stayed there for more than a month.

Have they done a TM30 report of you staying there?

No need for insurance.

As can be expected the hotel has not done the TM30, they say they never do. In 11 years I have never done 24 hour/TM30 reporting, is it really required?

I looked up the TM 30 form and it is not for individuals it is for property owners so how does an individual report?

I did find a TM28 Forms for Aliens to Notify their Change of Address or Stay in a Province for more than 24 hours, is this needed.

tm28 and tm30 both required, where was you last 90 day report done, or have you not been in Thailand 90 days yet.

your not renewing your visa you are extending your permission to stay.

I moved from Bangkok to Pattaya and renewed my Non-Imm O in Jomtien.

Have condo here, so did a TM-30 along with 90 day report about 2 months before renewing my Non-O retirement visa.   Ubonjoe already commented on residency and insurance .
