4,000 Yabba Tablets and 210g of Crystal Met seized by Banglamung Police.

Police Colonel Itipon, the Deputy Chief of Chonburi Provincial Police along with Police Colonel Nopadon, the Chief of Banglamunmg Police arranged this Monday afternoon press conference at Banglamung Police Station to announce the arrest of a 19 year old man who was caught in possession of 4,000 Yabba Tablets along with 210g of Crystal Methamphetamine also known as “Ice”.

These drugs worth over 2 Million Baht were brought in from Bangkok by the suspect, Khun Porntearp with the intention of selling the drugs here in the Pattaya area. The transfer from Bangkok was intercepted by Police who arrested the man on the Sukumvit Road as he crossed over a footbridge.

He was due to meet a local buyer known as “Tum” on the footbridge in front of the Toongrart Temple in Banglamung. He was searched and was found to be carrying a bag full of the drugs which he claims was given to him by a man called “Aeg” from Cambodia, in Bangkok who paid him 15,000 Baht to make the transfer.

Khun Porntaerp is now facing serious class 1 drugs charges which could see him face the death penalty if the judge decides to impose the maximum sentence permissible under Thai Law.
