My current Non O extension based on marriage expires on 3rd April 2020.

I work FIFO out of Australia on a 2 week on 1 week off roster and spend my week off in Thailand.

I have Annual leave booked from 18th March to 20th April. I then return to work and wont be back until 7th May.

I understand I can resubmit all my paperwork for another extension before 3rd April whilst on leave.

My question is can I leave the country during the 1 month under consideration period? and will the 7th May be too late back in the country to get my new extension?

Cheers for any advice

You can apply for the extension as soon as your return to the country in March.

Dependent upon the office you the 30 day under consideration period on the date you apply for the extension unless your office starts them from the date your current extension ends.

It appears you timing is a bit tight to leave on April 20th and and get your one year extension stamp before that day.

Perhaps it would be best to make a trip to Savannakhet or Ho Chi Minh City to get a multiple entry non-o visa that allows unlimited 90 day entries for a year from the date of issue.

Thanks Joe.

The office I use the consideration period starts the date my current extension ends.

May have to try to get more Annual leave as the other options arent possible.

Is there a 30 day "under consideration petiod" for extension of non-o retirement? My current extension expires on 4th May 2020. How early can I apply for renewal? My office is CW.
