It's not that hard.   The main thing is when you know the pump engine HP to then get you pipe the right size for the Distance to be covered.  I would imagine all that info is online these days.

I plan on doing it myself. Firstly, I'll have a lot of time to kill between Xmas and NYD; secondly, it'll be a learning experience and finally, I'm pretty sure I'll do a good job of it. 

I replace mine every few years...only that black hose lasts very long...the rest not.

 

The system i have now also isn't good, i have rotating sprinklers on poles but sometimes they stop rotating....or the weed is growing high and blocks them....

 

I'm thinking of a new system and this time i want a bullet proof one...so no animals/insects/kids can damage it. i want a hose about 1 meter high above all the raised beds with sprayers inside the hose....

This will be connected to a timer and that's it...

 

For the plants in pots i have another system which is quite bulletproof but kids like to play with the orange colored valves and Thai mothers just let them do it....so i painted them black which works.
