Does anyone else have a slow down in function because of all the moving adverts and flashing adverts now on all of the TV forums when you read and try to post? I understand advertising and making money, and this is not criticizing, but lately it has become way to much to bear and maybe as very frustrating in the slowing down of the computer.

 

 

I've pretty much stopped reading TV.com on my phone... firstly the Adds took over the App, and now they also block Safari for 12 seconds at a time... by which time I've given up and gone onto something else. 

 

The solution offered was to use a different browser which I could.. but why should I ? - I'll just stop reading the page that the Add pops up on. 

 

I too get ads, but the Pop Ups taking over the page and blocking contact just encourages me to close the whole page.

I have pop up blockers etc.. but they don't work for everything. 

The embedded adverts at the side of the page are fine - Ads should never be as imposing as they are on this site sometimes. 

Same for me - ads block the controls, some cannot be closed so I need to log in again, and those that can be closed cause the forum page to advance to the second page, so I need to go back to see the start of a thread.

 

I'm keeping a note of the offending advertisers and trying to avoid using their services.

Yeah for me it is starting to drive me crazy on my smart phone with the add popping in and needing to click the x to get it out and on the normal computer. If it keeps up I may just bow out of reading TV as it is becoming too burdenous and not fun at all. I am ok with adds but not a barrage of them stalling up the computer or popping into your phone. Yahoo did the same with their email and now I don't use it so much.
