Wilawan Phayanoi, deputy director-general of the Comptroller General's Department, revealed on Thursday (November 28) that her department is readying more than Bt700,000 for those who registered with the “Shopping for the Nation” campaign earlier this year to receive a 5-per-cent VAT refund.

“This campaign is in accordance with the Ministry of Finance’s policy to promote the economy during Chinese New Year and the submission of VAT data via www.epayment.go.th,” she said. “Those who registered and made purchases during the Chinese New Year festival (February 1-15, 2019) will be entitled to a maximum Bt1,000 VAT refund per person by the end of November.”

“The Comptroller General's Department has finalised the processing of VAT data of each registered person and will transfer money to their registered promptpay account starting Friday (November 29),” she added. “There are 6,918 registrants in total with an accumulated VAT refund due of Bt705,440.”

These campaigns have already been ongoing for decades. But "Shopping for the Nation"... that's a brand new one. And don't forget: You probably can claim that partial VAT refund on those booze bottles, too -- provided you bought them during Chinese New Year. As per the shagging... I'm certain they don't charge VAT for it.

Your big mistake is doing the analysis on it. Lots won't and be disappointed after the event where you feel the same way before the event.  ????????

There's a reason why similar events tend to be way less popular than the first one...
