I don’t need the press, gutter or otherwise to know my mind.

I judge johnson a buffoon based upon his behaviour and actions.

I would use another word, but it is one forbidden on this forum.

And polite company in general.

Boris is nobodies fool , the buffoonery is largely an act , he was a very efficient and popular major of London.

He went down in my esteem for the way he stabbed Mrs May in the back , but unbridled ambition ,though it may be unpleasant ,doesn't indicate stupidity.

Johnson has a bad memory. Was only 4 years ago when an American President got directly involved in a British vote when he made his infamous back of the queue jibe. Of course that was well and good acc

I do agree and if he gets a working majority I think he will steer a path closer to the centre than the right. Extremist governments are divisive and moderation is required.

Incidentally, but something that will help alter the tone of British politics, Corbyn and his acolytes will be toast if Boris looks set for the next 5 years. The Labour movement (read as the Trade Unions who bankroll Labour) will search for someone who is electable: Kier Starmer or Hilary Benn, if they want the top job.

From what I’ve read about a number of his poorly considered initiatives as mayor of London, he was a financial disaster.

Whereas Khan is doing a wonderful, fantastic job eh? The man who wants to ban all knives to end knife crime.

Hilary Benn would've made an excellent PM. He's been one of the few voices of sanity throughout this Brexit initiated political shambles; and seems genuine in his concern for the country as a whole.

But he's not, and never would be, the front man for the Militant Socialist Workers Party extremists who now dominate Labour's NEC. Whereas our Trotsky Marxist anti establishment Jezzer certainly loves the role.

The mayor of London is doing what he can, with reduced police numbers at that, but yes we all would like to end the tragedy of knife crime victims and not to use it to score political points. More certainly could be done, no argument there.

The Guardian, yes, honest, balanced and fair-more than enough...

The Momentum movement is certainly a problem. I see a situation similar to the 1980s and eventually Labour moved back to the centre of British politics after the Michael Foot leadership. Militant were purged from the party and the same needs to happen to Momentum. If not, the Labour Party will be nothing more than a protest group.
