On more than a few occasions I have clicked on a "Featured Forum Thread" in the daily newsletter only to find it already closed - sometimes after only a few responses.

 

Eg,

Now this was closed 22 hours ago according to the citation so even before the newsletter could have been sent out.......

This is not an isolated incidence and can be a tad irritating........hence my curiosity as to how the threads are selected in the first place.

 

I can only guess at some mysterious AI otherwise a manual (human) selection should pick this up 

maybe the same AI manual (humanoid) that closed Tik Tok accounts when commenting on Chinese government
