"like everyone else"? Really - maybe I should have gone to Specsavers!

 

And the space under the seat works quite well for my waterproof - not much room for anything else!

 

However, when my Thai wife and I go shopping we do take our own canvas bag, or a large reusable bag which she carries on the back of the bike, and we do have a basket on the front, which can carry a few bits and pieces. So the point about bringing your own bag is quite relevant. 

 

My point was really for the lone shopper on a basketless motorbike struggling with a wet brown paper bag
