Oh for goodness sake!

In the run-up to the election it was running at around 39.

It shot up to 40.7 on news of a Tory majority from 39.47.

When Boris announced his plans to curtail the talks by the end of 2020, deal or not, it dropped losing it's gains.

And what is it now?.... 39.24!! Those are XE figures which are the most accepted. Check it out before accusing people of making things up!!

The last time it was 37 was at the beginning of October. Remember it was 42 when Theresa May announced her resignation which led to a fall.  It continued to fall after the election of Boris Johnson as leader of the Conservative Party.

Where on earth do I say or even speculate that I want Britain not to be a sovereignty?

That is exactly what he should be doing.  Sovereignty certainly does not mean  'going it alone.'

If you want to post sensibly then know what you're talking about first!

It's almost as if something happened mid 2016 to make the pound worth less ......

New speaker of the house Sir Lindsay Hoyle has said that Big Ben can bong for Brexit on the 31st of January, I can just imagine what the old speaker would have said.

I thought you wanted an impartial speaker?

Things are off to a less than promising (but entirely expected) start:

Tories break promise on minimum wage hike just a week into their administration

Rubbish. the article is just a headline lie looking for clicks.

The Conservatives pledged to hike the minimum wage to £10.50 an hour within five years in its manifesto, but today’s Queen’s Speech includes a cheeky get-out clause.

The increase will now only happen “provided economic conditions allow”

This is standard practice, no one can know any economy 5 years away, they all put in caveats just in case of recession etc.. its a puff piece.

This writer is clearly our usual butthurt leftie remainer. He's not just a Journo as he claims, hes an activist and opinion piece writer...you just have to look at his back stories and substance..its all opinion pieces..  wayy too many out there claiming to be journalists when they are really just giving political bias opinions.

Blue passports and Big Ben's bongs - the dream is almost real.

Soon coming true in a country near you! And that's only the beginning.
Did the Sweaties decide yet what colour a Scotch passport would be if you ever got independence? Though not, because it's not worth the effort.

Soon it will be a country near me, but not my country, thank god.

And the EU along with many strategists have said that it's near impossible to fulfill a trade deal by the end of next year and would need to go into 2021 or even 2022 which means that we will almost certainly rely on WTO rules.  The drop in the pound to pre-election levels says it all.

Brexit uncertainty has been replaced with another 'cliff-hanger' at the end of 2020.

I will bet all the money in the world that the EU will get it done. The consequence is a no-deal and no-one really wants that.

If anything this should be fairly easy to resolve, both parties are starting from a point of alignment.

It's possible if it does not deviate too much from a curŕent model, I.e. the Canada model or the Norway model.

Another option is a part deal.

But Canada is a major deviation from what we have now, the shockwaves from changing to that will reverberate throughout British industry. Even if we get that sort of deal quickly the economy will be in shock.

Give it a rest will you,you chose to uproot and it went tits up,you quote " even if we " as you don,t reside in the uk why are you worried?be more worried about what's going to happen in the eu.

You just cant help it can you ? Im not a Tory <deleted> nor am I anything else politically, I am however able to see a puff piece when i see it..

RR you are engaging in confirmation bais, you seem to have as do many others an uncontrollable need to seek out puff pieces that claim whats going to happen 5 years from now and you call it... "another Tory lie in waiting"  do you not notice how ridiculous and trivial that sounds ?

No, I don't - we have a government of serial liars led by an inveterate liar, a man who, when called to his face on national television 'a nasty piece of work' sat there without an ounce of rebuttal because he knew it to be true, yet you seem to think that calling out these corrupt and corrupted individuals is 'ridiculous and trivial'.

What is ridiculous but not trivial in the slightest is just how willingly Brexiteers turn a blind eye to the manifest failings and woefully corrupt dealings of our PM and his government simply because they are desperate for Brexit. And here we are, a week into this disaster government and their lies just keep coming.

So what ? EVERY SINGLE party lies like the devil, SNP Labour Tory etc etc... dont tell me Sturgeon dosnt lie all the time and has walked back promises numerous times... they ALL do it.

I get it, your another butthurt, your referendum failed because not enough of your countrymen wanted independence and now your double butthurt because its very unlikely Boris will allow another one. So you have to hate the Tories, yet it is interestingly Labour that has been wiped out in Scotland.. Im curious. would you say the SNP are socialist or capitalist ?

Nothing but woeful deflection.

Can you let me know what the Chelsea v Southampton result will be as you plainly have the ability to see in the future and I can do with a few quid.

We are already adopting EU rules and regulations. 95%+ of the deal has been done. Stop being so pessimistic ????

Is it really deflection? You have made the case that the current government is headed by an inveterate liar of low character. You also make the charge of corruption though without any evidence.

Yet it seems to me that the losers in the recent election were also serially dishonest - most notably in their position on the NHS being sold off.Is it wrong to point these things out.Is it wrong to point out the Corbyn leadership was infected by racism, ashamed of defending British interests, surrounded by Stalinist public school henchmen, economically illiterate, scornful of the non metropolitan working class, terrified of taking an open position on Brexit (though Corbyn and his gang are long time Brexiteers) etc etc

Their party line was simple 1. Boris is a liar  2.The Tories will sell off the NHS

The British electorate saw their incompetence for what it was and gave Labour the biggest drubbing since the 1930's.

Is it deflection to point all this out?

I don't dispute any of the above, and certainly there are valid challenges to be laid at the doors of the opposition parties, but those challenges should be laid out on their own, not used as a means of ameliorating criticism of the matter in discussion.

Fair enough but criticisms should also be made in context.

If Corbyn had become PM you would have truly lost out, he would have crashed the economy. But with a little bit more thought from him and more generosity in his manifesto, as well as free broadband, he could have offered free X Boxes for all and a zero working week, you know, I think he could just have pulled it off.
