The Conservatives pledged to hike the minimum wage to £10.50 an hour within five years in its manifesto, but today’s Queen’s Speech includes a cheeky get-out clause.

 

The increase will now only happen “provided economic conditions allow”

 

This is standard practice, no one can know any economy 5 years away, they all put in caveats just in case of recession etc.. its a puff piece.

It's possible if it does not deviate too much from a curŕent model, I.e. the Canada model or the Norway model.

No, I don't - we have a government of serial liars led by an inveterate liar, a man who, when called to his face on national television 'a nasty piece of work' sat there without an ounce of rebuttal because he knew it to be true, yet you seem to think that calling out these corrupt and corrupted individuals is 'ridiculous and trivial'.

 

What is ridiculous but not trivial in the slightest is just how willingly Brexiteers turn a blind eye to the manifest failings and woefully corrupt dealings of our PM and his government simply because they are desperate for Brexit. Yet it seems to me that the losers in the recent election were also serially dishonest - most notably in their position on the NHS being sold off.Is it wrong to point these things out.Is it wrong to point out the Corbyn leadership was infected by racism, ashamed of defending British interests, surrounded by Stalinist public school henchmen, economically illiterate, scornful of the non metropolitan working class, terrified of taking an open position on Brexit (though Corbyn and his gang are long time Brexiteers) etc etc

We are already adopting EU rules and regulations. 95%+ of the deal has been done. Stop being so pessimistic ????

I don't dispute any of the above, and certainly there are valid challenges to be laid at the doors of the opposition parties, but those challenges should be laid out on their own, not used as a means of ameliorating criticism of the matter in discussion.

If Corbyn had become PM you would have truly lost out, he would have crashed the economy. But with a little bit more thought from him and more generosity in his manifesto, as well as free broadband, he could have offered free X Boxes for all and a zero working week, you know, I think he could just have pulled it off.
