Bangkok driver records alcohol level five times the legal limitBangkok police arrested a driver after a car allegedly collided with a motorcycle. Police said she initially resisted a breathalyser test and appeared to suck on the device. A later test recorded 240 milligrammes per cent of alcohol, nearly five times Thailand’s legal limit of 50 milligrammes per cent. Thailand bans competitive testing for children under sixThailand’s Education Ministry has ordered schools to stop competitive exams, pass-fail systems and rankings for children under six. Officials want early education to focus on physical, emotional, social and intellectual development. Teachers will instead assess children through observation and portfolios. Mystery donor gives Pattaya hospital 100 million bahtAn anonymous donor has given 100 million baht to Pattaya Patmakhun Hospital. The donation will fund a new six-storey building for outpatient and inpatient services. The project will add around 4,350 square metres of space and increase the hospital’s capacity. Thailand Real Estate Awards celebrate 10th anniversaryThe Thailand Real Estate Awards 2026 celebrated their 10th anniversary at the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok. The event introduced a new identity and awards structure, covering property markets including Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya and Koh Samui.
