That is true but these people just do not understand weakness and are brainwashed to hate USA etc.  strong defence is the only solution not sending Billions in dollars in a cargo plane. Keep them caged up in Iran/Iraq where they can live their lives doing what they will. Attacking the US embassy must have a response or it goes to the next Benghazi level. Shut it down and isolate them.

Here's the real facts behind your conspiracy theory about billions paid to Iran:

  • Can't say the world won't be a better place without this animal

  • It could have been a payback for the missiles attack on the Saudis oil fields a while back, and whoever gave the greenlight for the attack to eliminate this guy and his cohorts were biding their time

Thank god we have a country and a president that can do what others will not do.  Good hit, another useless individual removed (black listed) permanently from the gene pool.

Freedom is NOT free.

And here I was thinking Donnie wanted to get out of the Middle East and not get involved in other countries wars...

He went to meet Iranian Gen. Qassim Soleimani when his plane arrived at the airport. They got in a car and were immediately hit by 2 missiles. One can only assume the two were planning more attacks. Good intelligence.

And an astounding lack of intelligence, too.

An excellent way to deflect from impeachment proceedings!

If you are outside your country's territory, wandering around war-zones while planning attacks on other countries nationals, this has to be considered an occupational hazard..

Unfortunately, the same logic allows for a green-light to attack American and coalition partner's commanders as well.

This was a stunningly stupid move. How would the US react if the Joint Chief of staff was killed? Dumb and dumber. Trump just does not get it. This could very well be his undoing.

How would the US react?

Depends on if the US had been blowing up their oil tankers, destroying their oil refining infrastructure, trying to burn down their Embassy, and then sent a general to the ME to escalate attacks on Iran. In that case, I would expect Iran to try to kill the general.

...for all of which you have stonehard evidence, right?!

Oh yeah...the Saudis said it!

Must be true then!

What do you expect the Iranians to do, given the economic war that Trump has waged on them? The US wouldn't have had to react if Trump has listened to the Pentagon and not imposed such harsh measures on Iran. As the Pentagon pointed out, with lots of troops on the ground, that's a lot of potential targets you're giving the Iranians. And now the militias in Iraq, too.

On the bright side he is with Allha now and the even brighter side not with us????

More likely case of Strait of Hormuz down in 3-2-1........! Price of oil up $3 already. Fill your tank.

No their country isnt destroyed. We arent allowed to destroy countries anymore, nor is it smart to do so because then we have to spend money to rebuild them.

Would be a lot easier though.

I wonder if he was killed by the new US 'ninja' missile - which minimises collateral damage by drilling through the car roof and slicing up the occupants with several razor sharp, rotating sword blades...

His mess as he didn’t consult congress. He owns this whatever the dire consequence. His obsession in destroying Obama’s legacy may end up destroying him.

Could do - they are fundamentalist scum, but personally I'd shut the embassy and if they attack simply take them out one by one. No more long and protracted ground wars.

yeah cos that has really worked well for the past 17 years, hasn't it? But don't worry oil and defence companies are richer, so all good I suppose, let's ignore that it was an illegal war built on lies and has started a <deleted>show that still goes on today.

amazes me that people still believe the nonsense about minimizing collateral damage, when 100,000s of people have been killed in these illegal wars.

The wonders of the Military Industrial Complex.  Invade the Middle East, spend Trillions of tax payer dollars that mostly go to a few corporations that supply weapons to the U.S military.  Then 18 years later claim a great victory in killing a commander in the Middle East that would never have had the chance to kill U.S. soldiers if we hadn't invaded their space to begin with. The rich keep getting richer by placing our young soldiers in harms way for profit. Meanwhile domestic terrorism grows in the USA, and more and more tax paying citizens can not afford a home, health care,  or higher education.

The Iraqi govt has condemned the killings, are you able to comprehend why?

Nice work, President Trump.

Just now, Brigand said:

This guy was certainly an enemy of the US and more than likely deserved it. Question is about whether this was an assassination of a political/military figure without the approval of Congress (which I believe is needed for such actions). Although, when dealing with the actors here it is certainly 6 of one and half a dozen of the other as Iran is up to no good and is doing a fine job of also destabilizing the whole region too. Very dangerous situation now and wouldn't be surprised if it kicks off a bit.

President Obama declared that the President has the authority to kill any person, including US citizens, anywhere in the world if that person is suspected of being connected to a terrorist organization. That's the excuse he gave for killing Anwar Awlaki after a year of highly public discussion. Then a week later he approved the killing of Anwar's 16-year-old son. Congress is not permitted to intervene. They need to do something about that, or we're going to have a president someday who uses the precedent the same way Sulla used proscription when he was dictator of the Roman Republic. This case was particularly stupid because Suleimani was an idol in Iran, greatly loved and admired by the people.  No good will come from this. Along with Suleimani, they assassinated the commander of a large Shi'a militia (the ones who entered the embassy a couple days ago). The Iraqi Parliament was already divided over whether of not to demand American forces withdraw from Iraq. This will make it a cinch to pass. That means there will be no way to supply troops in Syria. Do you think the American Army is going to fight to stay in Iraq? How are they going to justify that?

Makes you wonder just what the last President was doing all those 8 years when Trump comes in and annihilates them in short order?

Once again, we are all lucky to have a competent hand on the tiller. What a difference it makes.
