I'm on the last page of my passport, just entered Bangkok, and unfortunately the entry stamp was placed right in the middle of the page:

Will Bangkok immigration give me a 30 day extension stamp? or do I risk getting rejected?

I measured an old extension stamp and it seems to barely fit (but without space for the numbers that the officer jots down above the stamp).

For reference I found this extension stamp picture online:

Anyone have experience getting an extension granted w very little space?

Thanks!

If you are not in a hurry, it is better to apply for a new passport.

However, if you are in a hurry to extend your visa, then you can still use the old passport and the stamp will be transferred free of charge once you get your new passport.

There is enough space to stamp it but you must also have the reentry stamp as well. I think there are still empty spaces in page 11 just in case there is a need for more spaces.

Apparently no hurry since he got a 60 day entry today the ends on March 3rd.

He would not be able to do the extension until mid February at the earliest.

Clearly I'm missing something with this thread. I OP will need attend imm to transfer extension even if can be squeezed in. As for op comment....put stamp in middle of page...They do that as like to keep entry and exit side by side.

Mountain out of mole hill. Get a new passport.

Thanks for all of the advice. I guess I will go ahead and get my passport renewed while I'm here.

Why on earth! Did you suddenly notice your pp had zip petrol in the tank.

I actually thought I had more pages, didn't realize the last 3 pages are not visa/stamp pages...

Yep got 60 day starting today so no hurry. Was just hoping immigration didn't care about passport space and I could avoid renewing my passport in Thailand????

I can understand wishing to renew home country. I renewed AU pp in bkk and the extra charge was quite a bit. From memory ~ 150aud extra. Not sure about USA extra charge

However think good option for you.

Actually it is cheaper than in the US. To get in the US it would $60 cost more to get it in 2 weeks or less.

Even so, you are still cutting it a bit fine. No point in leaving it so late. I presume you are from the US. I dont know if you can get a passport with 48 pages like the UK. If they do and you travel a lot, that will be your best option.

When you apply for your new passport check the box on the application that you are requesting the large 52 page passport.
Even then page 8 is the first page you can use for entrance/exit stamps.
