have you tried leg exercises at all? lifts, flexion, extension, some common gym machines for such?

Walking and the missus has one of those foot torture machines that I use. Similar to this...

Hi Giddyup

This might help you...

I suffer from RLS for many years after an accident. It is especially bad...

• in bed just before falling asleep

• on a hard mattress

• when feeling the cool aircon on my leg

• on the airplane

Over the years i contacted some specialists, they could not really help me, so i tried this n that... Best and almost the only 2 things to minimize the RLS for a couple of hours so i could fall asleep and sleep for a few hours:

• Yellow Massage Balm from 3 Pharmacist

• smoke some weed (eating weed cookies or weed yogurt might help too), unfortunately this provides some walking problems to me

I hope this helps you too because i know how annoying and uncomfortable the RLS can be. If you want to try the massage balm, feel free to contact me, i am in Pattaya

Agaiun, the OP does nto have RLS! He suffers from dystonia, involuntary leg spasms. Originally at night but now also in day time.

I have no idea why he persists in using the term RLS. It has likely added to his problems with doctors, as soon as the hear "RLS" they will lose interest or suggest he see a sleep medicine specialist.

Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a condition that causes an uncontrollable urge to move your legs, usually because of an uncomfortable sensation. It typically happens in the evening or nighttime hours when you're sitting or lying down. Moving eases the unpleasant feeling temporarily.

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/restless-legs-syndrome/symptoms-causes/syc-20377168

Dystonia is a movement disorder in which your muscles contract involuntarily, causing repetitive or twisting movements.

The condition can affect one part of your body (focal dystonia), two or more adjacent parts (segmental dystonia) or all parts of your body (general dystonia). The muscle spasms can range from mild to severe. They may be painful, and they can interfere with your performance of day-to-day tasks.

Night leg cramps, also called nocturnal leg cramps, are painful, involuntary contractions or spasms of muscles in your legs, usually occurring when you're in bed.

I'm not sure exactly what I have Sheryl. It started off years ago as an urge to keep moving my legs when I was lying down, which pretty much describes RLS, then it developed into sudden jolts just as I was falling asleep that kept me from actually falling asleep. Now I get leg spasms, usually left leg and sometimes accompanied by a sharp pain in the left foot instep. This condition isn't nightly fortunately, I have had respite the last couple of days and nights, so hopefully blood tests may diagnose the cause.

its related. i get the same thing. only way for me to end the pain in instep/arch is to wiggle toes, or it just locks there. slways thought it was a pinched nerve in leg until now. also, i have to completely relax my leg, which sounds funny, but believe me your mind learn to do it fast when this type of pain happens. you stop fighting real quick.

its from a certain position. dont get it often but it happens during sex occassionally. sometimes my partner knows somethjng weird has happened even if i dont cry out.

the rls is real, but it has a psych aspect. for example, i got it the other night after reading this thread for the girst time in months. cant imagine having it every night, would be awful.
