help required with long overstay

Hi there Im on 2 year overstay just got my new passport but if i want to leave thailand could i pay 20,000 fine or what ever at a border and get the ban and live somewhere like loas, vietnam, cambodia or will i get refused entry or does anybody know anybody who can help fix the overstay?

Leaving at a land border when on overstay can be problematic.

The easy way to do it is to book a flight to a country of your choice and leave from an airport, pay 20k THB fine on the way out and you are good.

I doubt very much whether anyone can "fix" the overstay.

 

Pay the fine on your way out-or face the consequences.

 

It's up to you.

I think I do... 

 

Claims they can anyway and is known to sort many things like non money extensions etc..

True...then don't overstay.

 

As far as the ban is concerned I presume it is Thailand only.I would follow JackDD's advice with the added proviso that in most instances it is best to return to one's home country .

For a 2 year overstay it is a 3 year ban from entering the country.

Leave the country as soon as possible and pay the 20k Baht at the airport. If they catch you before you leave, your problems will increase dramatically, by example with some nights in prison plus deportation and also you don´t have the chance to manage all your private things and sell your stuff.

Get to the airport asap pay the 20k your good to go I think best go back to your own country first, dont get caught by the police you will get banged up

As said you will not be able to it it at the majority of border crossings. Best to fly out of the country.

You could have a problem entering some other countries. Malaysia has allowed people to enter with a previous long overstay here with a banned from entry stamp.

Never heard Vietnam doing it, but believe Lao Airlines will refuse you boarding if you have a Thailand Overstay.

 

Going home getting a new passport (will do nothing for Thailand but will for the neighbouring countries) is your best option followed by Philippines (Taal aside), Cambodia or Malaysia.

Well, the post above me makes me question the Universe.....BUT...

 

for everyone else.  When on overstay, don't panic.  it is what it is...so just be professional, take care of it ASAP and of course another country won't reject you.  This isn't a criminal record, they don't care.  UNLESS you are tying to get a visa in a country like Australia, then I think a prior overstay will reject you.   But forget all that, one step at a time.  Flight, pay, go to another SE Asian country.  move on.  The OP's post last year is confusing.  lol.  but this is Thailand.

A question about this.  What would prevent this person from just walking into the casino zone at Poipet and then getting a tourist visa for Cambodia. Then just entering Thailand via the land border legally? I guess the question is how good are the records to catch this type of action?

The big red stamp in your passport might give immigration a clue.

(Unless you managed to leave on your old passport)

You might be given the Cambodian visa. However, without payment of substantial bribes, you will not be stamped into Cambodia without Thai exit stamps. That aside, Thai Immigration would still have a record of your entry into Thailand (and the lack of a legal exit). If you ever tried to enter Thailand again in the future, you would have a lot of explaining to do. If willing to spend a lot of money, rather than avoiding stamping out of Thailand, you would probably be better off trying to find a fixer on the Thai side who can arrange your Thai exit and reentry without the normal automatic ban. Apparently, this has sometimes been possible.
