I'm not feeling the love anymore.

everywhere i go, everyone i see, there is no love anywhere. Everyone seems angry, miserable, on edge, grinding teeth, seething with jealousy. What has happened to the country I once loved? Today at my local tesco, the cashier didnt even look at me. no greeting, no sawasdee ka. Just took my card, scanned it and gave it back to me. Everyone seems to avoid eye contact with me, as soon as they see its a foreigenr they look down at their shoes. waiters and waitress are so rude,  never say thanks when leaving a generous tip (like it is to be expected). <snip>. The food has gone down hill, full of salt and god knows what other chemicals. point being, there just aint no love her no more chaps, it's very obvious we are not wanted here at all. sorry i couldnt post anything more upbeat but i just dont see anything positive to post about these days.

  • It's yer Liverpool T-shirt causing the problems. Try it all again wearing a Man-U shirt, you'll get plenty of smiles.

  • But the forum would grind to a halt.

  • Change of attitude and stop Thai bashing would probably be better.

So where are you planning to go to next? Would be interested to learn of better destinations.

is it difficult to stay there long term  ??  thanks.

Wearing a United shirt would certainly garner some sympathy.

It's great for a holiday, just came back from Saigon.

Beer and cannabis cheap, girls expensive but very pretty.

I think you've got to leave the country every 90 days if you stay there long time.

If you're in Saigon, a bus trip to Phnom Penh is a lot of fun.

That's something of a point. To give a smile the Thais need a smile to respond to.

Don't see much bashing here, mostly pertinent observations.

Really, so those are your experiences too ? they certainly aren't mine or the general opinion on this forum from what I have read.

The world is a reflection of yourself.

Brown colored glasses.

Sure seems like a sad and depressing attitude toward life.

Did you ever consider it is the tourist slum you are hanging in and that the Thais are sick and tired of drunk, obnoxious, rude, dirty, and dressed like they crawled out of a dumpster foreigners? I certainly have had more than enough of them both women and men. Barely a day goes by now that i do not see a foreigner pulling some stupid stunt. May not be you yourself but all those others you have been hanging around with.

Well said and a clear understanding of probable cause in the high volume tourist/foreigner areas.

Wow.

The cost of a brew carries your attitude toward life?

Nobody is forcing the Thais to live there (and they ain't locals).

If they're tired of the tourists they could just go home to Issan.
