webfact Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Inside job? Former hotel employee on radar after multiple thefts from tourists in Ao Nang Police in Ao Nang, Krabi are investigating after a series of four thefts from several hotels in Ao Nang, Krabi over the last couple of weeks. They suspect that a man caught on CCTV at one luxury hotel is a former employee who knew about the operations of the hotel. There were two thefts on January 6th and a further two on Monday. The man - dressed casually with a cap - was trying to give the impression he was a tourist himself. A safe and tourists' bags were rifled in one hotel who reported the matter to the police. CCTV footage showed him milling about then standing in front of the room in question. Police have a suspect in mind and are in the process of evidence gathering to crack the case, reported Channel 7 TV news. mushroomdave Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 "The man - dressed casually with a cap - was trying to give the impression he was a tourist himself." So let me get this straight.....they think it was a former employee and when he entered the hotel "as a tourist", no employee recognized him??....and in the video CCTV has him with a helmet on???.....WHAT???....... Worst reporting ever!!!!!......but again, THIS IS THAILAND!!!!! 1
ChipButty Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Theft in hotels and safes getting robbed most of it goes unreported as you cant really prove it, some years ago I had 150 pound stolen, nothing I could do about it
