About 500 employees of a company in Thailand’s western province of Kanchanaburi were abruptly notified by the management on Friday that they are being laid off, due to a shortage of raw materials normally imported from China.

PHUKET, Thailand (Reuters) - The narrow laneways and pastel-coloured shophouses of Phuket Old Town are usually bustling with Chinese tourists during the Lunar New Year holiday, but travel bans and local fears about coronavirus have largely emptied the streets this year.

PHUKET: The chief of the Commercial Affairs Phuket office, Sasiwimon Mongkhon, has warned all people and businesses selling face masks to clearly have prices marked on face masks for sale, and to not stockpile face mask supplies, or else face legal action.

Phuket task force targets virus fake news, police asked to press charges over ‘virus death at airport’ post

PHUKET: Airports of Thailand management at Phuket International Airport (AoT Phuket) has filed a formal complaint with police to press charges under the Computer Crimes Act for a post online that claimed a foreigner infected with the Wuhan coronavirus had died at the airport.

17 Surat Thani students fly back from Hubei, test negative for coronavirus

Rare Omura’s whale spotted near Phuket

PHUKET (NNT) - A rare Omura’s whale was spotted in the Andaman Sea between Ko He and Ko Racha Yai islands in Phuket province on the weekend. Officials from the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) have spotted this hard to find whale while training tour operators in proper mooring buoy use.
