Thailand Requires Chinese Tourists to Show Medical Certificates

At least this idea will go some way to help stop the virus from entering Thailand.

Please tell me how this will?

If a Chinese tourist has a medical certificate saying they're fine then they can enter. However, as has been stated many many many times there can be a 14 day incubation period. Therefore, no symptoms would show on an initial medical certificate.

Also, seeing as China are restricting flights out of the country, if a Chinese national is already showing symptoms at the airport there then they won't be allowed to leave anyway.

I see literally no way this is helping to stop the spread of the disease at all. Stopping the flights, as other more switched on nation's have done, is the ONLY way.

Will they be selling these at the departure lounges?

  • So many things wrong with this it actually made me laugh out loud when I read the headline. Maybe someone should explain what a 14 day incubation period means to the geniuses who thought this one

So you think this s not a good idea  ??  what do you expect ?? all you do is moan and bitch about nothing so why bother living in Thailand if it's such a bad place, seems a terrible waste of your life having to put up with such a bad country.  Go back home if it's that bad.

Classic response from an apologist. So because we live here we aren't allowed to be critical at all?

be as critical as much as you like, I'm just sorry that you have to experience and live in such a bad place, as I said what a waste of your life to wake up every morning ready for the next moan & bitch of the day ...

Yes, you buy these like anything else, tax free. What an utter bs decision again from the Thai "government".

TV whinges & moaners brigade are out this morning I see. At least this idea will go some way to help stop the virus from entering Thailand.

But hey, there are some farang you just can't please .....  :clap2:

No, it won't. Since when was Thailand good at enforcing rules? They can't even better the PM2.5 problem - how on earth can they deal with coronavirus.

And it isn't just 'farang' saying this. Go on Twitter and Facebook to see how the locals feel. People are worried and they don't trust their government. No one cares about what Prayut says when it comes to serious issues. People know they have to just ignore him and find their own solutions.

This isn't some girl twerking or over-priced lottery tickets. This is a serious issue that needs proper leadership to deal with it.

Crocodile tears.

Maybe just repsect other's opinions, or ignore them, or add them to your ignore list.

Off to do that presently.

Sponsored by the Thai National's TAX money of course....

Proof of a medical certificate and 800.000 thb must be used in 30 days

showing medical certificates, however genuine, will not solve any problem. in fact it give false sense of relief. due to the incubation period of the corona virus carriers may not show physical symptoms at the time of the medical examination. such carriers may show symptoms while they are in thailand and possibly infect others, being in comfort that they have a clear medical exam.

The Chinese government is lying big scale.

Trust those medical certificates, trust the Chinese, you will see how you end.

Now it's just another 10 -14 days left and you will see and understand, hopefully.

hope not but the possibility does exist.

Desperation

The word is admirably chosen.
Requesting an official document from nationals of a country where corruption reigns is certainly the best thing to do.

Prayuth and his friends still haven't understood anything;
it is hopeless :post-4641-1156693976:

RE - Thailand Requires Chinese Tourists to Show Medical Certificates

* Anyway it will not be valid longer than the doctor use to sign the certificate as you may be infected when you pass the waiting room on your way out, on the way to the airport, in the airport and as well in the plane prior to arrive in LOS ...

Just another attempt to cover officials backsides, show they are "doing something". Would this do anything to slow virus spread? Why do we ask such foolish questions? Of course not

Amulet sellers need to start side business of selling pocket sized posey packs.

TAT may sell them on arrival ...

I think this is a more sensible approach rather than a blanket, racist ban like what some countries do.

There are many people with various diseases from all the world, we shouldn't ban them just because a small percentage has that virus or disease. Eg.

There are many countries with HIV carriers, but we don't see any ban from these countries... why?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_HIV/AIDS_adult_prevalence_rate

Clearly, this is racially-motivated by certain anti-Chinese countries.

And if China chooses to self-quarantine by blocking all flights in and out? Would that be "racist"? Sensible?

Then explain how the certificate will identify persons carrying the disease during the incubation period.

And explain why the Chinese of Hong Kong and Singapore are racist for wanting all persons, regardless of race, to be banned from entry?

China is as huge as the whole of Europe and twice the population.

If the epicenter is in London, it is not racist to ban all tourists from Europe?

A country is a political boundary and not ethnic boundary.

FYI, China blocked only one province which is equivalent to one country in Europe in terms of land mass and population.

Of course not, that’s silly . Available from friendly Thai doctors on arrival, right after visa on arrival ????????
