Pattaya: Thai men busted for selling sex toys and Kamagra to foreigners

A Thai clothes shop owner told the media in Pattaya that he had been running a lucrative side business selling sex performance drugs and sex toys to foreigners.

 

Suchart or "Kai", 37, was using his clothes shop called "X-Rock" near the Thepprasit Market as cover for his profitable sideline. 

 

He told Ruk Siam news that many of his customers were foreigners and other members of the public. He bought his wares from Bangkok and through the internet.

 

Region 2 police and health officials caught him and shareholder Sakda, 24, with 200,000 baht of items like Kamagra gel, "Super Rush" poppers and dildoes.  

 

 

He was advertising the items on Twitter and Line but police and health department officials got to hear of his activities and conducted a sting yesterday. 

 

They sent in an undercover officer armed with cash but when the illegal items were handed over the rest of the team hiding nearby were alerted and swooped on the shop armed with a search warrant.

 

The shop and a vehicle were packed with illegal merchandise.

I'm pretty sure the subtext here, for foreign consumption, is that "we're cracking down, making Pattaya more family friendly". 

 

For local consumption, it's "this is what happens when the brown envelopes aren't thick or often enough".

 

If there weren't hundreds of other vendors selling the same things in the wide open light of day, I may believe it's some kind of crackdown- an attempt to clean up Pattaya's image.

 

on any night people set up stalls selling sex toys and anything else round nana.being going on for years.no secret in what they were doing.like the ladies near mac donalds who look for customers.does not exist in the Thailand thou

What a crock of BS. There are many shops in other countries who sell these items legally as well as online purchases, why would you come to Thailand as a visitor to buy them illegally????

Yeah isn't it a ridiculous irony. Sex toys are freely accessible in many countries and Thailand wants to stand on the moral high ground. Yet they stick their head in the sand in regards to prostitution and pretend it doesn't exist.

Foreigners must be both disappointed and in need, as there is no prostitution to find in Pattaya, according to official news...????

I seriously have to question the mentality of anyone who would buy meds from a bar seller. It utterly defies belief. It could be talcum powder mixed with rat poison and yet people buy this muck to hopefully get their peckers raised up....
