I have been advised by two GI doctors at two different hospitals in Bangkok to have my gallbladder removed due to large gallstones and a chronic infection. Can anyone recommend a surgeon with competence in this procedure?

Thanks in advance.

Not in Bangkok I can't but I can reassure you that it's not a difficult operation, especially if done using an endoscope and keyhole surgery which is very common in Thailand, two nights in hospital at most and no painful or difficult after effects.

Yep, can second it is an easy op to recover from. Get it done, don't put up with the pain any longer than you have to.

Any general surgeon can do this.

If you are a candidate for laparoscopic surgery, recovery will be faster but it will cost more than open approach.

Wife had done laparoscopic in August at Vejthani Hospital by Dr. Piya Totemchokckyuakarn and cost was 205,000 baht with one night ICU stay.  No pain.  She at 79 was just under there normal cut-off age of 80.
