The Thai authorities raided a gym in Pattaya and arrested a 47 year old Australian man on Friday.

He was caught in the act at Coco Fitness, located at Mike Shopping Mall, while teaching a foreign couple body building techniques.

Police said the Aussie had been organising group tours under the name of ‘Thai Muscle Camp 2020’ for people to come to Pattaya to train but he didn't have permission for this.

It was also suspected that he had been distributing illegal growth hormone drugs though none were found.

The suspect said he hadn't ordered any recently as the group tour business had been poor.

Channel 7 reported that the Australian is now in the custody of the Pattaya police for working illegally.

On the one hand makes sense working illegally , on the other hand it’s not as if a Thai can do the same thing, getting Australians to come to train and in current climate, every tourist counts

Lots of foreigners seem to think it's ok to be a personal fitness instructor teaching their clients in condos in BKK and Pattaya. Haven't reported any of them but these lawbreakers should all be banned from Thailand as it's people like these that makes it difficult for legitimate non-working people who are on SETV/METV to holiday in Thailand.

Is it the weight-training or the steroids that cause bodybuilders to all become 100% bald?

Nah, gotta have all the qualifications, accreditations, work for low pay, and try to survive in a rich country, I suppose that's why he was here, low cost of living, and probably making enough to survive here easily ?

That is a pretty uptight comment.   If Thailand is afraid of an invasion of physical fitness pros, it may be overlooking more urgent matters like grossly unsafe roads.

You do have a point though in that why do something in a country that cares so deeply about such insignificant things?   Many neighboring offer better opportunities than what Thailand does.   Malaysia is actively enticing working expats to look at Malaysia as a freer option to Thailand.    It is brain dead to keep going to Thailand.

It's none of our business.

The guy was running a business - why didn't he do it properly with a work permit

I feel sorry for the Aussie but in the end, this is a real country with rules and laws and run by Thais, not a Disneyland for foreigners. Best to understand and respect. Work illegal and its up to Thai authorities to decide if you are a good boy and can stay or a rotten apple who needs to be tossed out of the basket. ????

No, it's because they tear their hair out in frustration when their manhoods don't increase in size commensurately.

It's only bored jealous people like yourself that would think so. I had so many Thai boys in gym ask me for help. Unfortunately l was a free service. Find a hobby prefer one that keeps you from watching others lol

I would think it would be the steroids that cause the big boobys? ????

And do they work 12 hours a day, 20 days a month earning 576,000 baht per month, or do they work an hour here and an hour there earning significantly less?

How and why does it make it so hard for others to be in Thailand on holiday, or for any other purpose with or without either of the mentioned visas?

'nuf sed.
