Yes, that is an interesting article.

What I found interesting how long it took before they tested him. I hope the reason was that he was possibly infected in January and maybe now the test would happen a lot sooner. Because if that is not the case then the number of people with the virus is probably a LOT higher that reported simply because people are not tested - and not only in China...

Today they published another interesting article:

Epidemics expert Jonathan Quick: ‘The worst-case scenario for coronavirus is likely’

I think that's likely accurate. Scary thought.

They are doing temperature checks everywhere now here in Mae Sot. Makro, Robinson, airport, bus terminal.

Just hope it's not too little too late

Flu is different from coronavirus which kills.

No, it can kill.

So can the flu.

The issue is how easily it is transmitted and detected.

If you are going to be dramtic at least get it right

Just have some Sangsom

It kills and destroys everything inside you!!!

Cleans wounds too!!!  Miracle cure!

Using any form of alcohol as a hand sanitizer would be a good piece of advice. I'm not so sure about drinking it! p.s. I do like Sangsom.

If you are old with underlying illnesses yes it does if you are unlucky but so does flu, sometimes the flu is more virulent as in 1918 but usually more benign. Panic for nothing, a 2% mortality rate for those with a compromised immune system, get a grip on reality.

Yeah but your scenario runs completely contrary to measures taken in China.  I think more serious than you think.

So the 500,000 deaths per year from flu must really be falls from balconies then?  ????????????

No idea, but I think it has something to do with bad/nonexistent immune system.

Flu does kill but it is not dangerous enough for other countries to ban people from that country or else Americans won't be allowed to travel abroad.

Another example of poor reporting.

Of course a newly emerged virus will start from zero.  Doh!

As does a new flu epidemic if it's a different strain to last year.

Tell me about it! I have been fighting the virus with all sorts of alcohol since it broke out. Not even a slight sneeze. It´s truly amazing!

Are smokers affected more seriously if they contract the Covid-19 virus? Have any figures been published in this regard?
