I renewed my Non-O-Retirement visa extension this past January (2020).  I renewed at the BKK immigration office.  I used the 65000 Baht/mo. monthly income method for income verification.

Yesterday, I was informed by my visa agent that monthly income would no longer be accepted for income verification.  He said 800K in a Thai bank would be required henceforth.  I told him that I had not heard of any such rules changes.  He said it's the policy of the new "superviser."  (His words.)

I asked him if I could apply in some other regional office next year to renew under the old 65k/mo policy.  He said the new rule applies to all offices.

Has anyone else heard of this?  Has anyone recently been denied renewal using the monthly income method?  Is my visa agent mistaken?

OP, do you actually have the 65+ coming into your account or does your agent "get around" requirements as per all the folk using agents for money in the bank method when in reality they have no money in bank.

If you have the monthly deposits do extensions yourself.

Nothing has changed.

There have been no changes to the rules. Proving 65k baht income is still an option.

Best to find a new agent.

Or dump the agent and do it yourself.

Your Visa Agent is giving himself a raise...at your expense.
