" Not so sure about that, many countries nowadays issue travel alerts / warnings for various reasons when they considered there's danger in any form. To do that they need information. As just one example the Oz government health / travelers site staff would possible look at Thailand and all of the above and say ' confusing, therefore risky, avoid Thailand'. With one of them hoping for / aiming for / manufacturing as needed / making announcements which probably should be made by other specific officials, to ensure he's the star, and making a mess of it, and nobody checking him. Not sure which one is worse; this guy or the guy in a ministerial position who served time in jail in Australia and now has the blessing of the PM.
