How Best To Scan/save Old Photo Negatives/slides To Disk?

Anyone in Thailand offering such services at less than European rates?

How did you digitize your old photo collection? Thanks.

Canon, Epson, and others make a reasonably priced PC scanner that does a great job with slides.

Many, many shops do this project in Thailand at very little expense.

Just look for a photo shop with Kodak prominently displayed and look to see if they have a computer. Chances are they would like to do this for you and if many photos are involved, they many consider a discount.

Take the disc home and load it. So easy. Of course, if you want to buy a scanner, go for that.

Prints scanned with no problem

Slides were not quite as good

Negatives took a lot of time to get the correct settings

All took a long time using a proper slide/negative scanner

The sw with my Canon makes a perfect job of negatives, EVERY time.

Even the ones the shops cannot print

Thanks, astral. Do you think I would lose much quality using one of those £125 flatbed /photo scanners compared to your £500 model? A cheap dual scanner would at least allow me to select the best of the best for top-quality scanning at a commercial photo outlet. It's so hard to tell just by naked-eye examination!

Do Thai photo finishing shops commonly have dedicated negative scanners as good as your Canon? Or would anyone here care to set a fee for scanning my best 100 negs and slides?
