Hi.

Reading some of the recent post here, I also have my flight cancelled from Seoul > Bangkok using Asian Airlines. My other connecting flight from JFK to Seoul is confirmed.I

An alternate is to use Air Macau(in Seoul) to Bangkok which is available.

My problem is What am I expected to present to Thai immigration upon arrival.

I went to the Asiana Airlines website found this info regarding Thailand.

Thailand

  • Immigration regulations

    • A16:B20Required documents (insufficient documentation will be denied boarding) ※ Effective from March 10, 2020 ※
① Heath Certificate : confirmed negative for the COVID-19 within 48 hours along with a confirmation of no dieases dignosed in the past 14 days [
      Download form]
② Travel Insurance : the coverage must be at least 100,000 US dollars in Thailand
③ Quarantine Questionnaire : Must provide reachable contact information [Provided in-flight]

  • Quarantine regulations

    • Even if the conditions above are met, all passengers entering Thailand are advised to be quarantined (residing at hotels or voluntary self-quarantine) for 14 days upon arrival

I have a 1 hour stopover in Seoul prior to my flight departure to Bangkok.

Question:

Is this true, I must present immigration in Seoul with a Health Certificate form and Travel insurance before boarding to Bangkok? Regardless if I am in Transit.

Anybody else just arrive in Bangkok from Seoul airport since (3/10), did you present these documents?

Thanks.

Tc.

You don't mention what passport you hold, which could bring up other issues, but that is the information currently posted by Timatic, which the airlines use.  If they stick to "usual" procedures, they may not let you board in JFK as they know you'll be refused entry in BKK and the airline will be responsible for removing you.  I don't know how this would work with 2 airlines involved, or if things will change again tomorrow, as seems to happen with a lot of the Thai requirements.  Best bet would be to avoid Seoul altogether IMO.

Hi.

Using 2 Airlines, I would still have to exit south korea get my bags then reenter. Once I exit, I was told I still must present a Health Certificate to imm. Luckily after 15+ calls, I reached Asiana.

They are able to transfer me on Thai Airways later that evening (Seoul > BKK) flight.

So no exit south korea  just Transit. BTW, I have a USA passport.

You are probably right, they will stop me at JFK knowing I have to exit south Korea.

See the other thread about the guy who “might “ lol be traveling from the States to Thailand or South East Asia. There is a good link there and it’s from TODAY from Cathay Pacific but applies to your arrival via Seoul.

If it's just a transit in Seoul, there should be no problem. An airport is not considered an infected area.

It seems like the Thai govt. and others have been spectacularly poor about clarifying regarding all these CV regulations whether airline transfers alone occurring in particular CV impacted countries do or do not trigger the various CV related measures.

So for example, you start out in the U.S., a Thai country of local transmission, but then you have an in-airport flight transfer in South Korea, a Thai disease impact zone, enroute to BKK.... Which rules will apply, the local transmission rules for the U.S., or the disease impact zone rules for South Korea?

Does anyone know what documents have to be presented at BKK airport when we arrive from LHR if you hold a British passport.

My expat chum tells me it's the same as usual.
