  • Australia just had 94 new Covid-19 cases in one day taking the total infections to 250 and Thailand is telling us there is only 82 in a country with such a huge population to me says they are just not

If any of this were true they would be chasing down whoever posted these comments. They're not!!!

Because he posted them. The man’s an idiot and he’s in charge of the health ministry. Scary times.

Maybe he just borrowed the 30 xenophobic words from a dead friend and they don't belong to him.

It obvious Mr Anutin is attempting to prevent panic to protect the toilet rolls.

Hmm...there is a connection between these two things!

Telling more lies than a cheap Chinese watch.........

The false security of more testing was pointed out by Dr. Deborah Birx, a member of the Whitehouse's Coronavirus Task Force who stressed that the result of that test is only valid at the time of that test. If you test negative, that only means that you probably haven't been exposed yet.

Keep washing your hands.

Hooray! Someone finally spotted the elephant in the room. You can test negative while busy being infected by the nurse testing you. Unless you're gasping like a chainsmoker and sweating like a paedophile in Toys'rUs it's complete waste of time, money and resources.

That's how PUI works. It's a fork in the road to infected or take paracetomol.

While it would be easy to agree with you 100% I am guessing some mask supplies are filtering through to hospitals.  Even the corrupt and greedy aren't stupid enough to cut of supplieS altogether.

Would you bet good money on that?

He didn't say that.  He said that he didn't write the comment.

Well, in the absence of a Harry Potter keyboard (and I have the only one on the Southern hemisphere), that means someone else did. Presumably his account requires a login, which means that either he logged the person in and walked away whistling a merry tune, or someone else used his account with his knowledge. Which means he still bears the legal responsibility. So a protestation is pointless.

The same logic applies to the deletion of the account, which either he did himself, or Twitter deleted it. Now according to a friend of mine, everyone who works at Twitter is a muppet (requirement for the jobs) so it's unlikely to be anyone there.

So we're back to the 'He's lying' option I suppose. Oh dear. Still, the average IQ in TL is less then 90 (recently exaggerated to be 91 by the Prayuth government who have a vested interest in it being higher than the actual score - neglecting the Flynn effect for the purposes of this post; so I'm sure there are lots of people who believe him and think he's wunnerful & stuff. Rotten foreigners. if only Thais didn't need their money... If dreams were horses, then beggars would ride.

Here's a thort. Why do Thais resent foreigners? - well, probably because foreigners tend to be scornful of Thais? (on the basis that Thais resent - read 'are envious of' foreigners for a reason, and not for no reason at all), so the question that screams out to be answered is; 'why do foreigners (except Community Service Volunteers without a valid work permit) tend to be scornful of Thais?'.

Answers on a postcard please.

So he's not in control of his personal social media or what is written on his behalf... maybe he should "tighten up the reigns" a bit.

Unless he's writing them, then pulling them down and conveniently denying all knowledge?

Looks like the DSI needs to be called in along with the computer crimes people to start the trace on the IP address the Twitter account posted from, sounds to me that it would be pretty easy to see if it came from his Smart Phone or computer in his office or at home.

Mr Anutin, 10 points for triple backflip and pike.

I predicted this news story would come out within 1-2 days. Obvious attempt at damage control.

That being said "maybe" someone else posted these comments, but they sure sound like him. I don't know what to believe anymore.

Again I will state, these creatures can lie and obfuscate until the cows come home as there is no power in the media or journalists to scrutinise them

Confusion and uncertainty are both commonly-used weapons in the arsenal of Thais in general, and of Thai pollies in particular, so we shouldn't be surprised to see them used. Regular Thais just do not have the werewithall to understand any of it, so they give up and go home.

Never underestimate the power of a bottle of cheap whiskey to assist the process of shaking your head and not giving a toss.

It was also claimed that the Twitter profile had been run by a member of Anutin’s staff and not Anutin himself.

His staff act as his agents.  Therefore, anything posted by his staff on an account run in his name is effectively endorsed by him. If a staff member published something not explicitly endorsed by him, then he should haul the offending party in front of the public and reprimand them, and put the correction into public record.  Just saying he's not responsible for what his staff posts simply doesn't fly, nor is it believable given his prior record of racist rants.
My guess is that the Thai laws governing Agency are pretty much the same in Thailand as in the rest of the world, otherwise Thai-Global commerce would be impossible.

Regarding the Twitter account that he claims was not his.  Ok.  He's a top level minister.  Contract the appropriate Thai law enforcement agencies and have them work with Twitter to identify the alleged culprit who sullied his good name and bring the offender into the public eye.  He should be taking all necessary steps to clear his name if that wasn't his Twitter account, again, given his record of public racist rants as a high level public figure.  If he doesn't, then it's just his word against the Wayback Machine and other internet archival systems that captured the original Twitter post.

On the contrary, this exact strategy is a tried and tested device for dealing with all sorts of situations, especially if technology is involved.

It is in print and. documented by several journalists,  yet he denies it. Rather Trump-like in his duplicity.

What a masterpiece of lying and covering of the hindquarters.

I guess it would be simpler not to post racial epithets at all. Or maybe not. Tough call, huh?

Plenty to be found on here but I'm told that's ok 'cos racism doesn't matter if it's anonymous.

Apparently his slurs are more important. I beg to differ. Dish it out, be ready to take it.

Personally i dont care what people call me if it makes them feel better. But knowing the mentality of Thais by him saying what he did might cause some Thais to start finger pointing and taking matters in their own hands about these "dirty foreigners." Come on we are living in a country where they still believe in Ghosts on a grand scale

My thoughts exactly. I have the feeling, given the poor quality of education in this country, the poor masses will take what he said at face value and could start attacking western foreigners.

On the other hand, we're probably still reasonably safe hanging out in areas popular with expats and tourists (even if there are currently few of the latter) since these areas also tend to be where the better educated, more affluent Thais who abhor this kind of behavior hang out and reside. In other words, downtown Bangkok may be a better place to be right now than some small village in Isarn.

Well, Prayuth and Prawit aren't exactly the sharpest tools in the box so it'll likely be accepted by them; especially if Anutin has a couple of friends who will say they believe him... Thai politics are just awesome...

Good thoughts, but not how it works in the RDZ (Reality Distortion Zone). Sadly.

Anutin is nothing but a coward who hides behind excuses. He did not know, he did not post, he does not know who wrote it, it is a site maintained by others. Any excuse to pass the buck. But in this day & age such obfuscation does not work. He is the effin Minister and he is responsible for his department and all that it does.

The fact that Prayut has not in any way uttered a condemnation about the words posted by Anutin and/or his cohorts clearly shows that he agrees that it is dirty farangs who come here to escape their infected countries. Let me remind him that a Brit was infected here and took it back to the UK, but no one talked about dirty Thai, and that not one Thai case of Covid 19 has been traced to a farang.

Anutin might have said that he has no problems with farangs but it should be noted that neither he nor the so called elected Prime Minister have not retracted the statements.

It is time for farangs to hit back at this racism and unjustified accusations. There are many more locations in the world where holidays can be taken. I have personally contacted major tourism bodies and operators to show them what this country thinks of their clients. It is time to rise up against being ripped off, slandered and denigrated.

This man is an utter and shameful disgrace for Thailand and its people. He lacks professional qualifications and is a low life character with a inferiority complex towards Caucasians. Possibly good qualifications of the "Ministry of Making Thailand look Silly"!

While he rants about the "dirty farang" in Chiang Mai he seems to be quite blind towards the amazing life-threatening haze over the valley, man-made disasters to please the balance sheets of sugar mills as well as the corn and the rice industries.

Mind boggling - how can such unqualified people survive in their posts? What trump card(s) do they hold so they are not getting kicked out by the ruling parties and/or the prime minister.

Not only erratic Anutin who behaves like a defying nuisance in a kindergarten but also the "confusion" between flour and illegal drugs in Australia - it seems.

Thailand can and must do much, much better and deserves better representatives at the helm of the various ministries. There is room for improvement ????

Fight racism with racism? That’s about as regressive and deplorable as it gets.

Your average joe on here isn’t a health minister. When you tell the public that a certain race of people are dirty, implying they are the ones spreading the virus, that’s not only highly racist and abhorrent, it’s completely misleading, incorrect and extremely dangerous.

I don’t hold the general public and their silly comments to any standard. I do hold people in power to very high standards, though. As we all should.
