Covid-19 claims Thai woman's life in US

A Thai woman who worked as head chef at a Thai restaurant in the United States died after contracting the new coronavirus (Covid-19) at MedStar Georgetown Hospital in Washington DC on March 21, Cherdkiat Atthakorn, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said.
 

The spokesman said that he had received the report of the 66-year-old's death from the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington.

 

She is the second Thai fatality from Covid-19 and the first to die outside Thailand.

I remember when there were only four Thai restaurants in DC metro.  Now, 200+..I wonder which one she worked at.  There is a good size Thai Community in Montgomery County, MD, and a large Buddhist Temple.  Bad news for everyone.  RIP.

Found WaPo article, not sure if this is the Thai woman, but think it is...

 

D.C. officials announced the death of a 65-year-old woman, the second linked to covid-19 in the city. The woman died Saturday evening after she was admitted to a hospital with underlying health conditions, city officials said.
