My niece was due to fly back to Australia on Thursday. She was here for her mother's passing. She was just notified by Thai Airways that her plane was cancelled.

Does anyone know of airlines that are still flying back to Australia?

Yes, can't get thru to Thai in Thailand, but contacted the agent in Aus. who's looking for alternates.

Cathay (according to last night website) have flights Bkk to Sydney, but she needs to get to Perth and would have to spend 14 days in Sydney isolation.

Hope you have success.

Cathay is not much good as it transits through countries which don't allow transit, that is the problem reaching Australia, there are no direct flights at all, on skyscanner you will find flights which transit through singapore, kuala lumpur, etc which have all banned any form of transit ,my understanding is if you do book these spurious flights through third party agents you will be deeply disappointed and out of pocket a significant amount of dollars, I have written to Marise Payne ('[email protected]') and also the au thailand consulate ('[email protected]') asking them to dust off the parked planes in au and come here to bring us home, so far their interest is in Peru, must be some diplomats there pulling strings, they won't listen to a single non diplomatic person, however if enough of us were to write we might be lucky, other countries such as europe/us/russia have plenty of options to get back but not au.
