Thailand to announce nationwide curfew starting Friday

As I mentioned earlier in the week, it certainly sounds like Khun Prayut Chan O Cha means business when it comes to the seriousness of stopping the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

He is obviously very concerned about the effects this will have on Thailands economy and as such has heightened the restrictions up another notch.

Good job Khun Prayuth Chan O Cha.

  • Quite stringent measures for a Country that shows so few cases ????

  • What's the point? The numbers of covid19 deaths will be astronomical whether or not a curfew is imposed or not. Plus the numbers given up to now are pathetic and an insult to even the stupidest in soc

  • Doesn’t bother me in the slightest, im in bed at 8 most nights.

Me too!

I'm an afternoon drinker ...... no hangover next day.

Time for cocktails!

Not me. I start when it gets dark is my preferred time and then go to bed in the after 12am hours. Today is my day off of drinking as had a run on it last night. But anyway this curfew does not phase me one bit as drinking at home and no need to go out.

Chock dee ........

I see your recipe the other day. Duly noted.

We shan't notice any difference in our village. It's very rare for anyone to be around beyond 8 or 9 pm anyway.

10pm to 4am is fine for me I'll be asleep but surely they can do more to finish the economy off?

This will screw up the schedule of trucking companies.  There maybe delays in getting more toilet paper in to the shops.

Advantage of it is , in that timeframe ST  becomes LT....If that's the stuff you have in mind ????

Shows is the key word. As opposed to ACTUAL.

I listened to a guy on TV yesterday about incorrect numbers (not only in Thailand.)

One thing he said, a slight positive ... with the number of death people being the same.

And a much higher infection rate, that would put the death rate vs infection rate much lower as it is today.

Don't know, maybe some truth in it ... not sure how much this matters.

Just 3  months  too  late............

Well it might have more effect then just a lockdown at Patong.

It's already scary and creepy to go out after 10 p.m. where I live. I did the other night and I felt like a sitting duck for crims, snakes, fleeing frogs, wild dogs, and overly inquisitive police officers. So I've already curfewed myself!

Also if it was actually true that the actual cases here are still low (sadly I don't see how anyone with basic common sense could believe that) severe measures at an "early stage" would be even better news! The more severe the measures, as EARLY as possible give the best odds of avoiding even the beginning of exponential infection rates. But I think exponential infection had already begun here.

Agreed. Sadly some still believe the numbers, that’s their prerogative.

You seem to be the only person on this planet who likes him.

I think it should be 8pm the other night a group of Farang outside 7/11 drinking the sauce looked like a few Russians

No doubt it's incidents  like this that have brought about the alcohol sales bans that are being introduced around the country.

That is a nice drink ????

I am sure the TAT can come up with some fantastic slogan, like: Thailand, the land of clean and empty beaches.

Not if you live in Phuket.

I sometimes have to do a beer-run after 10pm. Ironically, that's always seemed safer to me as there's fewer ppl about. Now I'll have to go out earlier, when there's lots of other folk around, to stock up.

6:30pm to 6:30am curfew would be more realistic. Or better still, impose house 24/7 house curfew with very few exceptions as in the UK (key workers with ID etc.). Here in Hua Hin it's surprising to see so many locals out and about in the areas such as Chom Sim, Bon Kai, Hin Lek Fai etc. but taking a drive by The Hilton this afternoon it was a ghost town.

Would it be better to wait until they have more, or are you insinuating something else? You know, You might be right, but maybe they also know they can´t test all and are aware of that it´s in reality more cases out there. Maybe look at it as a positive thing instead, but I bet that never crossed your mind.

What is it you need to buy between 22.00 to 04.00? Are you cheating on your GF?

It isn't doubling every 2-3 days, be thankful for that.
