This is good news but such measures are not enough. Thailand needs to find a way to do mass testing, preferably with the newly developed SUPER QUICK on the spot results type that don't even need a painful nose swab, and they also need to do massive blood tests for antibodies to begin to understand the percentage of the people here that have already been infected and recovered. Social distancing combined with shut downs combined with massive testing combined with contact tracing and then there is hope to open the country up sooner with fewer deaths and less long term economic damage. You need it all. Not just one part. Also of course it goes without saying get those medical people enough PPE.

Based on international mass testing studies, actually it's about 25 to 50 percent that have no symptoms and add to that a significant percentage that have symptoms so mild that they don't have any need to seek medical attention or testing.

You can only buy alcohol in commercial quantities outside licensing  hours if you have a drinks licence

I do not believe the numbers the Thailand government have released and keep releasing. I believe they are massaged in the same way as the TAT numbers are massaged, and for the same reason; to keep the public calm, uncomplaining and optimistic that they are being looked after as a government should.

I'm hearing things about panic buying inside China as people stock up on rice to last them 6 months.

 

Why would they be doing that?

I think it should start from 8pm. I'm not really sure if 10pm is going to make a huge amount of difference now that bars and other nighttime entertainment has been closed. But time will tell.

Don't know, I do remember military, sand sacks and road blocks on the street in Thailand ... not so long time ago.
