I agree, but the Thai economy will be hit hard by the virus.  Some suggest, it will be the hardest hit economy in Asia.

I hope they have ordered a lot of ink and paper.   ????

I am not sure why it would be the hardest hit...the Philippines and Indonesia are not doing well with the virus, and this will not help their reputation...

Why?

Because of the 10 ASEAN countries Thailand is number one in tourism.

By far actually almost 40 million.  Number 2 is Malaysia with approx. 26 million.

The countries you mentioned are way behind.

So, pretty simple math it seems...

So you mean that Thailand would be the hardest hit...when it comes to tourism...which is very likely.

In fact, Thailand is probably underestimating what is going to hit it...

The guys in Bangkok are there, pussyfooting around, like "shall we open in June or in July?" as if it was up to them to decide when to allow the hordes of tourists to enter.

Well, they could open today, and they wouldn't see anyone...and it will be the same in June, July, August...

Just a few articles from the first page of Google.

This is just the start for the Thai economy.  There will be bigger problems ahead.

Of course, but it is going to be the same for all the countries...worse for some, like those depending on oil (Saudi Arabia...), or those with a socialist regime (US, EU...), and better for countries with a more independent, localized, economy...

But all in all we are in for 5 to 10 years of economic depression...

Yes, it will be worse for some, and Thailand will be one of the "some."
