PHUKET: An elderly man who was deemed to be drunk after he failed to walk a straight line at the main checkpoint into Rawai on Wednesday night (Apr 15) was given a surprise reprieve by Rawai Mayor Aroon Solos, who simply had a pickup truck deliver the man home instead of risking an accident.

Govt reconsiders budget to ease impact of Covid-19 fallout

In a move to tackle the economic fallout of the Covid-19 outbreak, the government’s Monetary and Fiscal Committee has come up with a plan to maintain public debt to gross domestic product (GDP) ratio, boost the budget ceiling and adjust debt settlements.

Recipients of donations at Yala railway station must report immediately to health officials

Thailand, already battling the spread of coronavirus, is now contending with another deadly viral outbreak—in horses. With hundreds of horse deaths reported there in the last 3 weeks, horse owners are rushing to seal their animals indoors with netting, away from biting midges that spread the virus for African horse sickness (AHS). Some scientists suspect that zebras, imported from Africa, led to the outbreak.

UK extends lockdown measures for at least three more weeks

Facebook to notify users who have engaged with harmful COVID-19 posts
