Thirteen foreigners have been arrested in Pattaya for breaching Thailand’s current state of emergency restrictions.

Those arrested included British, French and German nationals, as well as several Thais.

They were arrested at the Momento Beach resort on Saturday afternoon, police reported via social media.

Anyone found violating Thailand’s emergency decree faces a possible punishment of up to 2 years in jail or a fine of up to 100,000 baht or both.

Again some foreigners make all the rest of us look bad in the locals eyes.

While majority of us obey with current strict restrictions, some still can't help themselves.

The Ban on alcohol and group gathering is well known by all now. No excuses.

Throw the book at them, let them pay, either hefty fine or jail. No excuses.

I am pretty sure that any Thais that know me, or any Thai up here for that matter, will not think any different of me, just because some foreign buffoons decide to ignore the emergency restrictions in Pattaya.

I agree they must be penalised for breaking the law, as the Thais caught should also be.

There is no mention of them drinking alcohol so are just sitting around talking and they all seem to be wearing face masks .  So if they are social distancing i dont see the problem especially when you see what Thai do at the mention of free money and or food .

Yes, we see on daily basis hundreds of people queuing for free food, and that's fine, but god forbid a bunch of youngsters having a little fun.

Send them home i say, no need to arrest them and shame them.

A woman over 50 was arrested near my USA home for throwing a party for teenagers at her home...

She posted bail and was arrested once again a few days later for the same infraction...

Some people are just determined to try and have things their own way...

I am sure that if indeed they were consuming alcohol there would have been incriminating photos supplied and also the arrest of the proprietor who supplied the alcohol

In the photo above, I can't see the pool table.

"Socialising with alcohol (on which there is currently a sales ban) is also against the conditions of the emergency decree, “even in small groups” according to Pattaya police.

Good job I do a George Thorogood and I Drink Alone.

Plenty of Thais reported as well

Of all the photos, including in the Thaiger article, I can see one coffee cup, but no beers. They all seem to have masks on. So, where are the pictures of the grog? Some I note were actually guests at the resort. Are they supposed to stay in their rooms the entire time? I suspect the cops went there with the intention of making arrests, regardless of what they found, cos a story about foreigners is grist to the mill here.

From other news website earlier today:

The police were acting on a tip when they raided the resort, known for its pool parties during regular times, and found the foreigners drinking, socializing and gathering against the current terms of the Emergency Decree

Well, they stated Thais also.

But, it sure seems like foreigners are consistently stupid enough to get caught.

Well yeh, but they were with locals, who have eyes....????

The Emergency decree is fairly tough on a lot of things going against the norm.....but the cops have to follow their leads that they get....and now tea money for Soi 9 is assured for April!  3 cheers for the tittle tatters in the community....NOT!

Maximum penalty allowable followed by persona non grata in their passports. That will stop it dead.

Taring and feathering!

Do anyone have a link to the actual rules that are in place in Pattaya/Thailand at the moment?

I am seriously cheesed off with this party; I didn't get an invite.

And maybe they was the ones who informed  the BIB.

Doubt it, probably doing what they always do, having a bit of fun with farangs staying at a hotel...

I have a condo in Pattaya, I don't live there I just went around to check on it as it's unoccupied.
The swimming pool was open, it had been locked out over the last few weeks due to the situation, I checked out the gym, it was locked.
I asked the jurassic manager if city hall has relaxed the rules regarding lock down of swimming pools, she said they have and the pool is now open.

Does anyone know what the situation is here in Pattaya,
are swimming pools in lock down?
is it up to the condo management to make the decision?

13 times 100,000 is 1.3 million for a party.  plus blacklist, make them pay for quarantine (100,000 each) for another 1.3 million and then put them on a private jet for another 200,000 each (2.6 million).  Then let them back in after 1 month if they bring more money.

where in the decree does it state one cannot consume alcohol, I thought it was only the sale of alcohol.
