There is no mention of them drinking alcohol so are just sitting around talking and they all seem to be wearing face masks .  So if they are social distancing i dont see the problem especially when you see what Thai do at the mention of free money and or food .

Thai's do that, Thai's do this... So let's ALL the foreigners do the same. To hell with the laws, as the Thai's do - would that help solve all the issues?

The Ban on alcohol and group gathering is well known by all now. Even so, wearing a mask, drinking a glass of milk and gathering in a public area is fine?

WOW! Really, it is fine?

I have a condo in Pattaya, I don't live there I just went around to check on it as it's unoccupied.
The swimming pool was open, it had been locked out over the last few weeks due to the situation, I checked out the gym, it was locked.
I asked the jurassic manager if city hall has relaxed the rules regarding lock down of swimming pools, she said they have and the pool is now open.

Does anyone know what the situation is here in Pattaya,
are swimming pools in lock down?
is it up to the condo management to make the decision?

I did the same yesterday at my condo there is about 100 units with 2 nice pools there is some people staying there not sure how many maybe not even 10 people, the pool is closed I was watching this young kid playing by the pool let him swim, Nope

Anyone found violating Thailand’s emergency decree faces a possible punishment of up to 2 years in jail or a fine of up to 100,000 baht or both.

How come this number changes at will every day? It was 40,000, then 4,000, now it's 100,000... Is this up to the reporter or do they actually have it written somewhere?

In the photo above, I can't see the pool table.

(from the link above)

"Socialising with alcohol (on which there is currently a sales ban) is also against the conditions of the emergency decree, “even in small groups” according to Pattaya police.

Good job I do a George Thorogood and I Drink Alone.

You don't drink alone with nobody else, you know when you drink alone you may prefer to be by yourself....but come on admit it....you drink with your good Buddy Weiser, and Jack Daniels, and Jimmie Bean,  and Johnnie Walker and his brothers Blackie and Red......so try again how your alone when you drink.....especially with your dear Old Grandad. ????

Can you provide a link where it said 4,000 or 40,000?

Why not hang them in public :coffee1:

Don't forget the drawing and quartering, lol!

This party couldn't have taken place without the owners' permission, so surely they should carry the can for allowing it?

And the person who allowed it was local most likely.

Rules are changing on almost a daily basis.   I read Pattaya News everyday.

https://thepattayanews.com/category/covid-19-coronavirus

I could not find any rules on this site. I did have a look at the official Pattaya site

https://www.pattaya.go.th/

This is of course only in Thai even if Pattaya totaly depends on foreigners coming here, so no info there. Searched for Pattaya City Call Center 1337 but they only have a facebook site which is just as useless as all other facebook sites compared to a properly designed web site.

If they do arrest foreigners there should be some way foreigners could keep up to date with the rules, where is this?

Just one Village. In this particular village there are a couple of mum and dad eating places, everyday, quite a number of locals congregate to gossip, eat lunch etc, not a mask in sight, the Ma and Pa little shop that sells alcohol is now selling by the carton and deliver to your home, so much for the alcohol ban, in fact they are selling a lot more than they would under normal circumstances. It makes one wonder.

So true.

I doubt very much if they will be Thais. Burmese laborers more likely.

A bunch of falangs at a pool party, wearing masks, no alcohol  and practicing social distancing? Come on, pull the other one ding a ling! What was this, the weekly meeting of the Temperance Society?

And they're probably wearing masks in the photograph because that was the first thing they were told to do by the police when they arrived, for their own protection.

All falangs should be, by now, aware the rules and ignorance is no excuse anyway. They were caught bang to rights and deserve whatever's coming to them.

Those arrested included British, French and German nationals, as well as several Thais.

So we are led to believe that there are 13 Farangs and how many does several Thai's equate to...?????

I live in North East, not a tourist area, as do many other members here.

I am pretty sure that any Thais that know me, or any Thai up here for that matter, will not think any different of me, just because some foreign buffoons decide to ignore the emergency restrictions in Pattaya.

I agree they must be penalised for breaking the law, as the Thais caught should also be.

Check with the health ministers opinion, Thais take their Q's from their leadership
