Another time waster for gear-heads - Ford V8 in 1932.  1 hour video.

 

 

I do love watching those boat racing videos.  Of course it's hard to beat a boat with 8,000 HP that gets to 260 MPH.

These racers are crazy.  Get two dozen cars with 900 HP 6.7 liter engines on a short dirt track. They can hit in excess of 260 Kph on the straights.  I attended a race once. The noise is deafening. I came home covered in clay and rubber dust.  Some races are on asphalt.

 

 

 

Solo run, no staging lights and no timing gear.......... not what I would call drag racing.
