Thai Rath reported that the governor of Chonburi province held a Covid-19 meeting with his staff yesterday in which it was decided to relax restrictions on the  travel lockdown concerning Koh Larn.

But the holiday island off the coast of Pattaya remains off limits to tourists, only residents will be allowed to go in and out.

Phakarathorn Thienchai also said that he had instructed officials to remain vigilant in not allowing the use of the beaches in the Pattaya area.

He said that warnings had been given, people flouting the ban from now on would face arrest and prosecution.

Thaivisa notes that the chief of the Pattaya police already reported that 11 foreigners and 12 Thais had been prosecuted.

Phakarathorn also said that some provincial offices such as the Land Department and registration offices would be open tomorrow, May 1st.

It would be great to see that story followed up? Are the farangs still banged up or did they get fined and released? Anyone know?

I can't even walk the beach road in jomtien anymore. The one in front of view Talay 5. It was crowded 3 weeks ago when there was still a risk. Now that we are nearly virus free, there is police closing of more and more.

So we destroy the economy For 7 new cases per day ??? For54 people dead in 3 months ? This while on an average normal day in Thailand 65 people die on the road

There's just no sense anywhere right now

We can't handle the truth is what this is saying.

So Bangkok is opening restaurants, gyms, golf courses, massage parlours and spas, but you can't even stroll along Pattaya or Jomtien Beach. What an utter farce.

Pattaya has had no new cases for some time now but Bangkok is still generating them. It defies logic....unless you consider Thai logic

Yep, and as soon as Pattaya reopens it will be flooded by Bangkokians, closely followed by millions of Chinese as soon as they start flying again. They might as well have spared us all the lockdown nonsense and just not have bothered, people in Pattaya are not the problem, no matter what the likes of Anutin and the Cholburi guvnor may think!

Not at all. Bangkokians have repeatedly shown during the pandemic that they are responsible citizens who can be trusted.

Compare that to the numpties in Pattaya.

We will enjoy some respite come Sunday, fully deserved.

Let me see now, the current tally of cases is Bangkok around 2,000 and Pattaya around 20. Perhaps you'd care to elucidate how that makes Bangcockers responsible and Pattayers memories? Or is it just the overwhelming sense of self-entitlement that characterises people from the capital that leads you to make such a silly statement?
