5 times now - when finish *170*passport number # click SEND - screen show USSD CODE running!

Stop belittle people, when the fault is at AIS side.

And again *170* Is a ussd code.  Get it

Belittling? Really?

You'll kick yourself when you realise your mistake. Five times now ????

Read post #27 for clarity.

Is the catch into all of this is that you need to have an already AIS existing package of just a AIS sim card without package?

SIM registered with your passport. Otherwise it would not work. AFAIK only AIS offers this.

Works with old passport number if you used that for registration. If you can remember it of course...

Tried new passport number. Got "not eligible" message in Thai.

Then tried old passport number. Same result.

Will they ever be able to update my passport number?

Was at AIS Pattaya in 2017.

"All done"

Nothing done! :annoyed:

Maybe I am stuck now because of the first failed attempt.

For me it's not worth bothering any longer.

 *170*passport number followed by #

Didn't work twice.

Quote;

170*, followed by their identity card number, then pressing #

Attempted again, same error message!

passport number by SMS to 170 between

That's OK. Just when you have the time, check things at their nearby centers.

Correct. Worked without a problem with the passport number I registered with. It's nice that they include foreigners this time.

Out of words.

I was about to write "Thank you AIS" until I experienced that neither passport# or our personal id# will work.

13 digits required.

Edit: I guess thai id card required then, ,only for the very few with PR (?)

Foreigners register with their Passport number as stated in the OP graphic.

He just does not get it does he. I will have a go. @OnTheGround. Do not type *170*passport number#. Ok got that. Do this. (1) In your SMS text messages start a new text (2) In the recipiant field write 170 (3) in the message body write passport number, nothing else (4) press send

Hows that lol

Unlimited free calls with my AIS 150bht/month unlimited internet deal.

So no point.

Yes but that costs you 150bht. This is free, I dont see your point. I would never use 150 baht on calls in a month anyway. I call everyone on WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger for free anyway.
