The bank statement must not be older than 8 and a half minutes. And of course you can only buy between 10 PM and 4 AM

It is not a big deal for some but it is for others. I dont know if you live here or not. There are many expats in Pattaya that are stuck in a small room with nowhere to go because the bars are closed that welcome a couple of beers to get through the day. If you are a non drinker and/or dont live here you would not understand. Myself when the bars are open I go out 3 times a week. Now the bars are closed I like a few Thursday to Sunday. Why condem people who like a beer. May 31st was a long way off. 9

However, I did enjoy the triggered Thai Visa posts over the past few days. You could care less? That implies you care quite a lot. You're an alcoholic? Or did you mean you couldn't care less? Maybe learn to use the expression correctly before being condescending to people who are annoyed by their freedoms being removed. 3

Governments aren't supposed to govern based on what people can "go without". What are you? A child? And happy to have a paternalistic state tell you what you can and cannot do? F--- that. I'm an adult. I can have a glass of wine with dinner. If people get drunk and cause a ruckus, the state has a right to deal with them. But I have a right to choose what I drink with dinner. 4

I am a very light drinker, but I do not tell other people what they should or should not do. Some like a drink more than others. So what? It is their life, their body and their free will. I rejoice at this liberty regained. I just do not want big brother telling me what I can and cannot do. Thailand along with South Africa were the only two nations in the world to impose this insane ban. Thankfully that bit of repression is behind us.

Nsp64
The proposed ban was never going to happen. It was a threat to get the breweries in line after prayut sent them a letter asking for the top 20 to chip in. He got rebuffed so gave them a hint of what could happen. Chip in or lose a hell of a lot more.
